Red face 23year old looking for opinions

Hey everyone. Just want to get peoples opinion on something. What should a 23 year old guys weight be? I am 6'1" if that helps any. Right now I am 270 and feel as though I should be a lot less. Plus with finding out that both sides of my family have been known to have heart problems. I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    hey

It is based on your muscle mass and frame size. It is best to go by waist measurement. anything over 39 inches..BAD. I am working on it. Heart problems run rampant in my family. Good luck losin that weight.

Hey bro! You and me seem to be pretty similar, I am also in that weight range, currently 262, 6'1'', and have a family history with heart issues.

I actually have had high blood pressure for a while, and I decided last week to finally go to the doctor and make sure I am taking the proper steps towards ridding myself of the problem and losing my weight once and for all. So far the response I have gotten from him has been very positive!

My waist is pretty big at 47'', but things are improving all across the board with really just a month and a half of solid effort. Your not alone man, so hang out and learn how to set yourself up for a long and healthy life.

Oh yeah, and I wear a 40 pant, but my waste is a bit bigger, get a measuring tape and fill in everything you can, it really helps.
almost in the 100 lost club :D

If I had to guess I'd say you're too heavy, but as others have said consult a doctor for the best advice, they'll be able to help you out a LOT as far knowing what is good.

I have a few different kind of doctors, one of which is a sports therapist/surgeon and he said I shouldn't go below 180 lbs. with my body type. I was shooting for 170 lbs, but he may be right, we'll see when I get down to 180 lbs.

Frame is a huge component in this and you may very well carry your muscle and fat better then someone else who has the same height and measurements, but that doesn't mean it is healthy or ideal.

As I said go see a doctor, if you can see a specialist that would be ideal as they'll know exactly what a person will need to look like. I spoke to my doctor about getting my bf % down to around 9% and he said with my body type that would not only be ungodly hard, but it would be unhealthy and unsafe.
