    powerlifting meet saturday

I have a powerlifting meet saturday april 14th.
im not so sure what my workouts should look like next week
people have told me on monday to do my opening lifts in bench squat and deads and then rest up untill saturday.
im also not so sure what i should do for a warmup. before the meet starts
usually i warmup untill i feel comfortable

here are my stats from the last meet i went to on March 10th, 07
    bench- 140, 165, 170
    squat- 185, 210, 220
    deads- 225, 250, 260

    my total was - 650 @ 132lbs

is there anything you would change?
what would be a good goal for a total to shoot for on saturday ?

I am also doing my first meet on Saturday. I am planning on doing a bench shirt workout on Monday and then a dead session on Tuesday. I will do legs on Wednesday and then take the rest of the week off.

    Where is your meet?

Do your bench and squat opener early in the week and nothing else after that. Nothing after Monday. Rest up.

Dnewbie- no way should you be doing deadlifts the Tuesday before the meet. Your last deadlift workout should be tomorrow at the very latest. Forget about doing legs on wednesday as well. Why you'd do legs the day after deadlifting in general is beyond me, it's not a smart way to do things. You get stronger when you recover- hitting legs 2 days in a row isn't going to be productive in the long run.

Good luck to both of you!

I tend to recover pretty good right now....I don't normally do legs after deads. That was just the plan for next week. But, I think I will take your advice and skip both of those sessions. I am doing arms tomorrow and did back/shoulders today.
