    Help with long jump

    So my coach told me that my problem is that I dont jump up when I long jump... Are there any drills to help me fix this problem or any thing to help me while Im running (I have a track meet tomorrow so I cant do any drills before the meet)

    something that a coach always to me that helped me, is to not really think of jumping out as much as running as fast as you can and jumping up, this fixed my problem when i would pretty much just run and hope for the best.

    place a box (plyo box either 6in or 12) at the board. Place high jump mats in the sand (this is what you will land on)... Do your approach as usual and your take off leg will be on the box. This will change the angle of your knee/hip making you drive more to extension on the take off leg. The mats are there so that you can really exagerate the take off and hit some hieght and land on the mats. Do this once or twice a week. Do not do it every day because it will mess with your timing without the box.

    are you looking down at the board when you jump? Make sure you have your head up.

    the high jump mats in the pit is a really good exercise for this just really exaggerate your takeoff driving your knee up like youre going to dunk.
