    anyone have a protein shake before and after workout?

    I only take it after workout now but does anyone take it before and after? If so is it worth it.

    I did the first couple of weeks, now i just drink it post work out along with morning and before going to sleep
    315b/405s/500d @ 168 bw (July-August 2013)

    Goal by the end of the year: 335b/455s/525d @ 175 or below

    I usually just drink post-workout with some glutamine. I eat a small meal pre-workout though to give me energy, I tried taking a shake pre-workout for awhile but I found it gave me no extra energy.

    i do. i use to just take a shake and eat oats like an hour before. now i eat a full meal of chicken and rice and fruit like an hour before and have a shake w/ ground oats right before, and another shake right after. its worked well for me.

    I have a meal consisting of complex carbs and a good source of protein usually meat or fish with pasta, potatoes or rice about 2 hours before. 1 hour before i then have a shake consisting of 50g oats, 20g protein, 250ml semi skim milk. during it i have 2 sport energy drinks then a weight gainer post workout then another meal similar to my pre-workout meal an hour or two after that.     If you're eating 6 meals a day just workout between meals, and make sure you get sufficient protein in them. You'll get protein an hour or so before you're workout then drink a protein shake with your meal right after.

    x2 I like to eat solid foods pre workout (tuna/chicken/beef with rice). Then I have a large shake post workout, which is 1/2 serving of ON serious mass, 5 g creatine, 1 cup ice, 1 cup milk and 4 oreos (makes it taste not like ****). You need complex carbs pre workout (rice, potatoes, oats, etc), and simple carbs post workout (sugars or w.e).

    The taste of whey gets to me if I have it too close together. The other night I had a late workout and had my typical post workout shake, then had another large shake like an hour and a half later before bed. I couldn't finish the last few gulps of the shake, my mouth got mad watery. I was seriously was about to puke.

    I've started mixing carbs and whey starting towards the end of my workout and downing it as soon as I'm done. I then eat a lean steak and rice ten minutes later.
