Strong double fail.
Your photo isn't on stage and moreover doesn't beat Coleman.
How can you not see that Coleman wins that shot?
Coleman has in contrast to Yates:
chest striations, much much much better arms, bigger everything except maybe calves and is not so blocky than Dorian.
Who wins?
Right. Ronnie.Ronnie KING Coleman, the greatest bodybuilder of all time.
Bodybuilding = Ronnie Coleman

Evolved since when? Just because they gave Dex the win last year doesn't indicate a definitive move toward smaller guys, just yet.
Dorian was more than just mass, saying so just proves you have utterly no clue what you are talking about. He had incredible conditioning in addition to to his insane mass. He had his weakpoints, biceps and chest not being his greatest, but when looked at from a judging standpoint, he was one of the greatest to ever hit the stage. Currently there isn't anyone competing who even comes close to him or Ronnie. Wolf is about the only guy who has the structure to come close, but we'll see how he turns out.Welcome to thunder dome, bitch.

I love Ronnie he's superb and one of the best ever. but on those stage pics you struggle to even find his lats. Dorian's are huge and the first thing you think when he hits the pose is 'f*ck me look at those lats!', not arms and chest. Ronnie's front lat spread was a lot better earlier on in his career when you could see them. The pics you guys just posted just look like a huge mass of muscle, which is great but like i said the pose doesnt emphasize his lats. That is my reason for prefering Dorian's lat spread.

Not a fan of Dorian, I think he would get beat today due to changing trends, and Ronnie blows him away in all poses apart from Side Triceps, and Abs thigh (only in Ronnies later days).
EPO all in my veins; Lately things just don’t seem the same; Actin’ funny, but I don’t know why; ’Scuse me while I pass this guy.

Ya, Ya, I love Ronnie Not... It is funny how most people commenting about Dorian did not even no what weights were when he retired. The reason Ronnie carries more mass is he has 20 extra pounds of gyno, not to mention his ugly as hell mid section. The problem with most people and bodybuilding today is they automaticly think the bigger guy should win regardless of the fact if he looks like **** or not. Shawn Ray was one of the best looking bodybuilders of all time and he stood on stage at around 205, 210 but looking at pics you would never no it, How many of you have ever seen Ronnie, Dorian, Flex, Shawn or any other bodybuilder on stage? I promise you Dorian looks better than Ronnie.

it is true that he'd win today with his 93 form.
thats the way i read it but i think it was misinterpreted along the way.
it doesnt mean his top form has not been surpassed yet.
ronnie's 03 form wont be beaten for prolly the next 20 yrs.
ronnie in 98,99,03,05 was still better than yates' best ever form.
strong logic.
ray & wheeler lookin impressive at lighter weights is evidence that yates must have been better than ronnie ???
both ronnie & yates compromised their midsections towards the latter stages of career. the difference was not very much
u promise us yates looks better than ronnie because u saw yates, flex & ray onstage?
i dont see the connection.
is that when u had the future flash before your eyes & imagined ronnie there as well in his olympia winning form?
& btw, ruhl & fux never won olympiasLast edited by morderstwo; 01-24-2009 at 03:13 AM.

at least someone who understands the point of this thread lol.
i knew it was just a question of time before it would turn into a vs. ronnie thread.
as much as i love big ron, clavicle width and lat sweep play a big role in the front and rear lat spread. the fact is that ronnie, as great as he is, did not have the best structure. monstrous ribcage but relatively narrow clavicles.
