    Is this normal?

Today I did back and bicepts and I left the gym 1 hour ago. I worked my bicepts so hard that when I left the gym i could barely curl my lower arms up even with out any weight. Now its an hour later and I still can barely do one rep with 10lbs! Should I not have fully recovered by now?

    Cool

Fully recovered? Probably not but you shouldn't feel that wiped. You probably over did it a little. That's not necessarily a bad thing as long as it isnt a regular occurance as it will lead to overtraining fairly quickly.

On the other hand it could be something else like: poor diet today (probably too few carbs) or poor post workout nutrition/rest. I wouldn't worry too much just yet....see what happens next time out.

I think you might be right about the carb thing. Im been focusing on getting at least 180g protein and havent realy counted carbs. my post workout nut/rest should be okay...I basicaly do what was recommended on abcbb.com, 60g whey mixed in 16oz apple juice right after work out, take vitamin e and c also. oh and I only hit bicepts once per week and am basicaly new to lifting "correctly". (started jan 29, 2004)

is there a drink or something you can recommend I take before wo to have more energy?

What did you do for your biceps? Muscles take at least 48 hours to recover.

I did 3 sets on the seated curl mashine, 3 sets of hammer curls and three sets of standing bar curls. Like I said, I work each body part once per week.
