Wait....Robin died?
Did he die of AIDS?

He (Jason Todd) was set up by his mom who ended up to be working for The Joker. The Joker beat the **** out of him with a pipe then blew the place up with him inside.
The story was noteworthy because the issue ended with two 1-900 numbers that the readers could call and vote on if Robin lived or died.
He died.
Of course in comics no one stays dead....not even Bucky anymore.

I thought Robin's name was Richard Grayson or something. Are there more than one Robin?

I like Hush, despite the majority hating on Loeb.
I also like the Vampire/Elseworld series of Bats.

lol..I know that was a very exaggerated statement of BendisMDay but that's how ridiculous it was.
I really liked the first volume of Runaways. The hardcover of it is great.
Anyone reading the Captain Britain series? Pretty good start.
Final Crisis tie ins are much better than the actual series.Next time armed soldiers come crashing through your window and gun down your Christmas tree, you let me know, and I'll be persuaded there is a war on Christmas.

Since you appreciate Alan Moore's storytelling:
Greatest Joker story ever written - period. This was given to Heath Ledger to read as a resource on what the Joker is all about.
If you can actually find it, you'll read what many consider to be the best superhero comic ever written. Brutal, dark and displays the harsh reality of what would happen if superheroes actually existed...and it isn't pretty.
Forget the movie. This is what great storytelling is all about. An absolute classic.
In a world of super heroes and super villains, who has the job of keeping them in line? A better superhero team book has yet to be written, in my opinion.
Solid characters with solid writing and solid art produce unshakable stories. This is a pure, entertaining comic. This is what most people strive to achieve in comics but always seem to miss a vital ingredient somewhere.
Basically, you can't go wrong with Alan Moore. He's just such a ridiculously good writer that at least half of everything he's written is generally considered a 'classic'. Any one of the above will immerse you in a part of what makes the comic medium such a great foundation for stories.
Happy reading. The assassins of freedom tend the burning of truth.

Yeah, they're around. Torrents, of course. Especially on Demonoid, they have a ton of his stuff.
No, they didn't die. Basically, the Joker's plan failed and he wound up caught...but not before sharing a good laugh with Batman first.
That Batman laughed with the Joker is supposed to be quite an important little event, shedding a little light on how disturbingly similar they both are and their relationship together.
It's one of those 'make you think' endings that are deeper than it seems at first that Moore does so well. The assassins of freedom tend the burning of truth.

Fan-****ing-tastic. Trippy as **** at times, but read it once, read it through again, and you'll be amazed at how tiny little details that barely seemed to matter initially turned out to be extremely important in the grand scheme of things. One of my favorite graphic novels ever.
And yes, do check out the Lucifer spinoff. Not AS great, but still good.
