Bought a couple pairs of compression shorts on my home today to cut down on the loose material flapping and sliding around when I work out (going further then this would qualify as TMI)
holy schnikees...these things are unbelievable. I ran in them, and was absolutely amazed at how much cooler my legs felt without my shorts rubbing up against them. Doing situps tonight in something that fit nice and snug cut down on the issue that was causing me chafing, so I was stronger with those.
Bought 2 pairs, can't wait to wear them in my next TKD class.

You're simply missing out by burning extra cals from the lack of friction now. I would take them back.

OK, WTF are "compression shorts"?
I have a couple of pairs of "silky" kinda shorts I bought last year, and they have a built-in support kinda thing (whatever that's called), and they're a huge improvement over wearing any "regular" shorts. I do almost all workouts in em'."If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Compression shorts are to a guy what a great sports bra is to a woman!

Well, I can not imagine that it feels any better to have your boys flopping around as you are working out... than it does to have my girls flopping.
I feel very much better when I have a good sports bra on... sometimes I wear 2 of them to keep the girls nice and supported.

Because I'm not a B-cup, my sports bra is a line made in Germany and its called... wait for it... it will be worth it... The Shock Absorber!
Freaking hilarious name but a brilliant bra that goes up to GG cup - and that's unheard of in sports bras.
Being more serious now (very difficult for me)... if and when I do anything that resembles cardio I like clothes that are tighter - nice not fighting the jigglybits.I'm Buddha-sized and full of wisdom... and fat.

Compression shorts are AWESOME! I wear them to lift or run. I like the guys to stay in place. Running commando sounds, well, painful. Maybe I just have big 'uns 'cause the idea of those things swinging around is just ....ouch.

I hadn't tried that particular one, but I did try ones similar. They are great for reducing friction, but the material it's made of I'd found kind of problematic. It holds everything in place but when on the treadmill there's still some movement down there, and I found that the material tends to, well, no other way to say it, but it tends to stimulate growth, which while running is not comfortable at all.
