I knew an Indian guy who never played lacrosse or any sport for that matter. He coached lacrosse though, guess he wanted to be preppy and get closer to white people.

There's just something inherently cringe about Indian men. When they try to act cool, it's cringe as f/ck. When they try to go for a "look" like a preppy look, a hip hop look, a GQ look, a gangsta look, it's even MORE cringe.

Indian men should just be themselves, no need to pursue a certain style or "look" because it'll just make you look mega cringe.


Take this poster from the film American Desi. this really highlights my point: when Indian men try to look "cool" they just look extra cringe....

Note: Indian women don't suffer from this tragedy, they can be "hip" and "trendy" without looking cringe.

best is to go for the "british colonial upper caste / connected" look. indians have deep connections to the british empire. going for the british upper class royalty look (with a british accent) can work really well for indians males srs

Ken Griffey nailed. Honestly, upper-class Indians who already nearly speak in a British accent are far more suited to being preppy than the average American, lol.

My sister is marrying an Indian guy who makes big money as a consultant. He went to university in the UK and has their accent. I didn't think about it until now but he is pretty much perfectly preppy.

Since you are Canadian, I'm not sure that even exists. Isn't 'preppy' an American term originally used for someone that went to a prep school? i think our UK brothers are considered 'Sloanes'
