Sales of raw milk appear to be on the rise, despite years of warnings about the health risks of drinking the unpasteurized products — and an outbreak of bird flu in dairy cows.

Since March 25, when the bird flu virus was confirmed in U.S. cattle for the first time, weekly sales of raw cow’s milk have ticked up 21% to as much as 65% compared with the same periods a year ago, according to the market research firm NielsenIQ.

Pasteurization was probably necessary when we didn't have widespread refrigeration and better overall food safety knowledge but I don't see how it's necessary now.

Regular milk wrecks my stomach, raw milk I can drink basically as much as I want and no digestive issues at all, results speak for themselves.

I can get a gallon of raw A2 cow's milk for like $12-15 and 1/2 gallon of goat's milk for like $10-12 in my area.

Pretty sure lettuce is way more likely to get you sick than properly handled raw milk or any meat.

The purpose is clear, extent shelf life, and therefore profits, but pasteurization destroys lots of beneficial enzymes, and results in worse health outcomes, but people who make these laws and sell the milk, they don’t care.

When they pasteurize the milk it kills off the enzymes that allow your body to naturally digest it

It's why lactose intolerance exists, the lactase catalyzes the lactose and turns it into glucose for your body



Lettuce & cabbage are by far the biggest offenders, it's so prevalent I rarely eat them(lettuce barely has nutrients anyway)

The second biggest mistake are Mexican food establishments, they often leave meats on the counters for hours allowing the temperature to drop down
