On top of that she is straight, white, religious, and makes an attempt to be feminine. Those characteristics will appeal to a wider audience than most of the other WNBA players (the league is 90% dykes).

Because of this I'm not sure how well the rest of the league is going to take to Clark. Sheryl Swoopes is already leading a smear campaign against her and is blatantly lying about her to do so. I'm not sure how much of that is due to Clark's demographic, or if it's just the same shiit we see from old NBA players who talk shiit about the younger guys because they feel insecure about them. Then you have the racial dynamic. You have a league that is mostly black players seeing shiit all over the media about how a white girl that hasn't even played a single game is going to be the savior of their league. Some resentment there is natural, even though they'd be smart to embrace her because if she actually does help boost their popularity it will benefit everyone in the league.

I think they'll see a temporary boon, but it won't last. It is still just a much lower quality product than the NBA and it doesn't have the college affiliation and atmosphere that bring eyes to women's march madness tournament. If women want it to succeed then women are going to have to watch and attend games. But even they would rather go to NBA games, or watch dumbass reality shows.
