Swerve will retain. This is an obvious filler feud. Christian is coming off a humiliating loss so it's not great for Swerve's reign, but Christian is a great heel so hopefully he makes Swerve look good. As mrdot said above the world title should be the main event.

I'm assuming Ospreay loses due to Kingdom interference. I think he's winning the title at Wembley, they just need something for him to do for a few months. Maybe it's Adam Cole who interferes and they have a feud for a few months that culminates in a match that gives one of them a world title match.

I don't see Copeland dropping the title yet, but Malakai should probably win. They constantly build House of Black up but they always turn into jobbers. Except Julia Hart's title reign.

Speaking of the TBS title, they only had Willow beat Julia because Mercedes is challenging for that title, and will likely get her "revenge" on Willow in her first match in AEW. It's hard not to have her win her first match there, but they could extend the drama by having Julia Hart interfere and lead to a triple threat or something down the road.

Ok. OVERALL this was a good PPV.

The Ospreay/Strong match was very good. Kingdom ejected early was good for the match IMO, and some good storytelling with Strong trying to manipulate Ospreay and fake injury, and Callis getting Ospreay to attempt the tiger driver.

MJF return was awesome and a surprise. Last I heard he was expected to be out for some time. I wonder if he is able to wrestle yet, and if Cole is close to being able to wrestle, because that's a match that's obviously coming. Cole took a finisher but that doesn't mean he can go in a match yet.

The trios match was good. Juice return to tip the tide in favor of Bang Bang Gang was a nice surprise and protects Pac. I think there is potential here for a longer feud, and hopefully a singles match between Jay White and Pac.

Women's world title match was very good. It's fukking stupid that this match was earlier in the card than the TBS title match. Good technical match, probably what they needed given what was to come lol.

Cassidy/Berretta was meh. Short match, OC won in a straight up wrestling match which is what Trent asked for. Trent walked out at the end, teasing quitting or something.

For the World title match was meh. I'm a big Jericho fan but his work the past couple years has been forgettable. This match had some entertaining moments, but overall not good. Twink Hook suplexing Big Bill just isn't believable. You have to have some muscle like Gable to be able to pull off a move like that and have it look good.

Mox vs Take****a was good and Mox did some good selling of the injury. SHOCKER Mox bled in this match. Kind of sad to see Take****a kind of go by the wayside. He's barely on TV any more, and now he's got a match on a PPV and he loses clean to an injured opponent, and it wasn't even a title match.

TNT title match was entertaining and had a nice surprise with Gangrel showing up to help even the odds. Lots of extreme wrestling and fukkery in this one, but entertaining.

TBS title match was the first of the "triple main event" which is another fukking stupid concept that WWE also does sometimes. The match itself was fine with some good psychology and playing on the women's history together. Swerve at the end with Stokely and Statlander supposedly accidentally costing Willow the match, then Stat turns on Willow after the match so maybe the distraction was on purpose? My problem with this one was the ending. Mercedes's finisher just didn't look good, and I doubt it can on an opponent like Willow. Same issue as Hook suplexing Big Bill. It's just not believable and this one looked a lot more awkward than the Hook spot.

World title match - This one was better than I expected. Obviously Swerve is great, but Cage can still put on a good match as well. Patriarchy got thrown out midway but Nick Wayne still made it back in to influence the match towards the end. Great ending and a good pop for the finisher.

Anarchy in they Arena - Very fitting that Justin Roberts called this match "the shiitshow" when announcing it at the start. This match is exactly what CM Punk was talking about when he talked about them doing "dumb internet shiit." The fukkery in this match was off the charts. They had theme songs playing during the first part of the match when everyone started brawling during entrances. This was confusing, but it was nice to see them use "Final Countdown" at least.

So Darby tries drowning Jack Perry in a barrel of ice water. Later on Darby is knocked out and thrown into a pile of garbage outside the arena. Perry gets in a bus and proceeds to RUN OVER Darby. Darby appears later in the match limping back into the arena. Perry grabs Tony Khan and starts dragging him into the match, and then Darby appears and lights Perry on fire with a flamethrower before the Bucks come in with fire extinguishers to make the save. Eventually the Elite end up hanging Darby upside down in the ring. Okada brings them a pair of their custom sneakers, only these are lined with thumbtacks on the bottom. They use them to stereo superkick Darby in the face. Okada also had a thumbtack sleeve that he used to hit Rainmaker. It was so absolutely ridiculous to the point that it became a parody of itself.

You're part wrong but mostly right. Cole offered to "hug it out" BECAUSE he was cornered by MJF and is still recovering from injury. Everything after that though I completely agree. Makes no sense that Undisputed Kingdom didn't come out. You're right on the Trent thing too.

i skipped OC vs Trent and im glad I did. Completely pointless match IMO, could of given some of the matches an extra 5-10min instead of that garbage

Maybe have the match end indecisively, hurting neither man and maybe giving both of them something to do after, perhaps getting mutually fuked over by someone hated and 'over' enough to make people not get too hung up on the main event being inconclusive. The problem with inter promotional events is making everyone look good and with AEW running more and more ppvs it’s got to be harder to build cards people will shell out 50 bucks for. Also, AEW signed all of NJPW’s biggest stars when they became free agents, so I’m not sure what compelling match they could make for Swerve, especially for a primarily American audience.

On the bright side, I’m not sure what they’re going to do with this which is kind of refreshing.
