Biden says White House could drop Trump China tariffs to lower consumer prices
President Joe Biden said he could drop some of the tariffs imposed against Chinese imports to help control rising consumer prices in the U.S. — just as Wall Street braces for another inflation report north of 8%.
The White House is reviewing the penalties imposed under former President Donald Trump — which raised prices on everything from diapers to clothing and furniture — and could opt to remove them altogether, Biden said in addressing the nation from Washington on Tuesday.
“We’re looking at what would have the most positive impact,” Biden said, adding that removing the tariffs was currently under discussion.

Wait why are the tariffs still there? You mean they didn't work? Who could have known that before the orange idiot decided to do this incredibly stupid move?
But yeah, let's forget about all the Chinese patents Trump secured for Ivanka before he decided to wage war against the country that manufactures all our goods.

The Tariff Act of 1789 was the first major piece of legislation passed in the United States after the ratification of the United States Constitution and it had two purposes. It was to protect manufacturing industries developing in the nation and was to raise revenue for the federal government.
They do work. When another country is taking advantage of you in trade, you enact tariffs to level the playing field and then promote your domestic manufacturing to pick up the slack, therefore strengthening your own economy.
The problem is, the US' manufacturing base has been destroyed. We should be depending on our own manufacturing, but our politicians prostituted our manufacturing and sold it to China.Ave Christus Rex

Says the independent critically thinking clown who automatically believes the opposite of anything the government or media says. Facts be damned.
Funny how you had no problem with Trump securing those Chinese patents for Ivanka. Probably because all the right wing garbage sources you consume didn't report on it while bragging about Trump taking on China with tariffs that hurt Americans.
