Sony has reportedly founded a new studio within PlayStation, made up of former Deviation Games employees.
That’s according to Michael Anthony, a former Deviation Games employee on Linkedin.
“Hey, I hear that a lot of previous Deviation Games employees have setup their own studio at Sony working on an undisclosed new IP,” he wrote on the platform.
“All the people I see working there that have signed up are top-class developers and hope that you can create a top-class new IP with your studio that hopefully gives you all the time you need to create a quality product and not have to deal with red tape from previous projects.”
Deviation Games, which was founded in 2020 by two experienced Call of Duty developers, didn’t get a chance to release its debut project, an original IP that was set to be exclusive to PlayStation platforms.
In September 2022, one of Deviation Games’ co-founders, chief creative officer Jason Blundell, left the studio.
It would appear that Jason Blundell is involved in the new studio. Following Anthony’s posts, users on social media highlighted a post from former Deviation Games employee JC Farmer from December.
The post read: “I’ve been wanting to say this for a while, but now I finally can! I’m a Junior Game Designer @PlayStation Studios. And I work for Jason Blundell.”
Deviation was reportedly “over 100 strong” in 2021 when it signed the deal with Sony. At the time of its announcement, the studio told GamesIndustry.biz that its PlayStation deal ensured “complete financial security for years and years to come”.

It's funny how sonycels have been trying to pretend like Xbox is failing when they've been the most profitable brand in gaming. Despite whatever statistics sonycels can reference, Sony hasn't been making nearly as much money off Playstation. Now with Xbox having a massive presence as a game publisher for various platforms, Sony's desperation has only been increasing.

I'd say Nintendo is great at making money, but they aren't printing money like Microsoft has been. They are basically in their own little world where nobody can touch them. Them focusing on a portable was the best move they could have made. Sony basically trapped themselves into their current situation by phucking up on the Vita so badly they no longer do anything properly with handhelds anymore, the only thing they got is some lame streaming handheld that only the biggest sonycel shills could praise, which completely lacks it's own brand and software. Heck Microsoft has been talking about the possibility of them getting into the handheld gaming market, and with their Surface brand of tablets in mind, I'm sure they could do it and do a proper job with it as well.
When it comes to the home console market, hardware sales has never been a money maker, heck hardware has never been an objective as far as profits go, it's always been all about software sales when it comes to making money in the gaming industry. Biggest issue with home consoles though is the PC market, it's become massive and dominates a lot of gaming markets around the world. I mean there's a good reason why Sony has been doubling down on releasing their games on PC despite them constantly trying to flex their console sales, it's just the best way to make money now a days off video games if you aren't Nintendo.

Lol.
Just because I find Helldivers kinda fun doesn't mean I want Sony to make gaas games. I've said it multiple times, I dont like multiplayer games nor do I really care for them that much. I'd rather Sony make more single player games and let third party handle more of this online chit. I don't mind Sony dabbling in mp games, but I dont want that to be their focus, which it seems to be given their recent strategy and studio acquisitions.Sig line can't be a novel

The money has always been in the software. Most companies take a loss on the hardware. Ime Sony and ms Nintendo has inferior hardware but they don't lose anything on sales and their best games are first party. They have it locked down. Unfortunately Forbes gamers we miss out. I'd love for Nintendo to release a console on par with series x and develop a Zelda or Mario game that was no either cell shaded or cartoons looking but with realism. I don't know why they don do that at least once for us older gamers
I can remember when Nintendo on the snes would not even allow fatalities on mortal combat. Sega did Nintendo didn't. They eventually wised up"it takes a wise man to know when he is in error and a noble man to admit to it"

Microsoft is so profitable they had to close down multiple studios
....Profitable to the CEO and high level execs because now they no longer have to pay the salary of all those game devs and employees--------------------- ϞϞ( ๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑). ---------------------

So Sony picked up the scrapes of a studio that shut down before they could ever complete a game, let alone release a game.
Somehow this is a W for Sony? Lmao @ sonycel copeDisclaimer: All posts made by [LtGoose] are works of satire. By reading this you agree to absolve the author of any and all liability.
