So ive had a front and side delt sprain that eventually led to bursitis, and seemed positive i had about 4 to 6 weeks to return to light stuff.
After 3 months off gym.
However, i did a strength test with a physio who tested by external rotation strength and asked me to use ful strength and ended up hurting my rear delts too.
Since then people said its just sore but i was sur it was a sprain but advice made me take it less serious, plus harder to avoid sleeping on it, and now it progressed to pretty bad that i cant even move my arms or hold my arm weight without a sling without it feeling like something is going to rip off.
I am guessing it might have progressed to a partial tear and warning signs of a full tear if i dont take care. There is some crunching sounds and pain by the slightest wrong movement.
Anyone have experience with this, and how long did it take them to heal to start lifting 1kg.
Im hoping at least 6-8 weeks before i get my original ROM back, then another few weeks but i heard some people take months. Ill be pretty happy when it at least gets to what ot was after the strength test
It's crucial to take your symptoms seriously, especially when they involve potential tears and worsening pain. The progression you describe from a sprain to potential partial tears and the accompanying symptoms (like crunching sounds and severe pain from minor movements) suggest that you might need more focused medical attention.
For recovery times, they can indeed vary significantly based on the severity of the injury and your body's healing response. Some people do take months to recover fully and regain strength. Following a structured physiotherapy program will be essential for recovery and to regain your range of motion gradually.
In terms of dealing with the pain and managing daily activities, consider using supportive devices like slings, as you mentioned, and possibly other aids recommended by your healthcare provider.
Over time, with proper care and gradual increase in activity, you should see improvement, but it's essential to be patient and follow medical advice closely.
