started trading on april 1st n havent done anything complicated @ all just some limit buy/sells to make a quarter here or there
account's up 4.1% MoM, that good bad average or expected? saw the S&P was like -2.5% in that time.
basically i look at the earnings calendars, try to get a handle on co. performance last 1-3mo n if theres meat on the bone aka undervalued i buy n if i think its overvalued & has nowhere to go but down i dont. or the market dips to overreaction but i think it'll rebound like SMCI did then thats a buy.Bills crew / Bud Light crew / extra onion crew / M&P crew / lcp2 crew / ap3 crew / Trump crew / mcdonalds app crew / cat-owner crew / Tin Cup crew / self-checkout crew / country music crew / RIP snails crew

Just sell puts and buy shares. Who cares what the short term share price is. Look how fast their book value is growing and their greater than 20% growth in services. Profitability is finally here and that doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. Getting in below $8 feels like getting in on the ground floor with a great CEO like Noto at the helm.

Out of NVDA...quick 5% gain...thanks jobs report. Still in WULF.
I've got 90% of my money in ETF's and about a month ago, decided to keep $3-$4k free at all times to play with/swing/scalp and just help my account grow quicker. So far in the last 4 weeks I've "realized" gains of $1600......50 bucks here, 150 there, got a nice bump with Google before earning and cashed in for about $500. It ain't much, but it's building and I'm learning and if I stay consistent, in 10 years if I keep it up I'll be glad I did.
I had a really good conversation with a work buddy who trades options and swing trades mainly and he's been doing it for at least a decade. He was basically telling me .....Consistently Making $50-$100 a trade adds up man, just stay consistent and keep emotion out of it, have a plan and any trade that you came out of positive is a good trade, don't be mad you sold too early and only made $100 instead of holding and making $200....and that really shifted my mentality about my trading plan......I feel like I would only gamble, looking for that one that was "going to be a 10 bagger" with the hopes of turning $500 into $5k and in reality I would just end up losing money.
The plan now is just to continue adding $250/week to the account, keep buying the same ETF's every month, keeping 90% of funds in them and continue to swing trade here and there while researching and learning.
For this specific account....basically a self managed account for my Daughter/our future life/etc, which I started 2 years ago (outside of retirement savings/401k/Roth's) .....currently sits at about $40k and my goal is to at least double it by the time I'm 40 (and my daughter is 3)....which is 2 years off. All things remaining the same (job, income, expenses, etc) my contributions alone over the next 104 months will be $26k....so I just need to make about $14-15k.
Apologies for the long post, but outside of my friends having 401k's, they cant even hold a conversation about this stuff. lol

It looks like 25-26 to the upside and 22-23 to the downside right now, if it gets sold off right now, it could end up going above 26 after it hits 22-23.
Lol.
I don't think it is going above 30 until to pulls back from 25-26, if it does, the immediate target is ~32Last edited by Abzu; 05-06-2024 at 09:39 AM.

Crazy how much impact expectations make. When calls get loaded hard usually ends up tanking after earnings unless there is a big surprise revealed. Opposite is also true if shorts are loaded to the hilt and expectation is ongoing concern but management says all is well you can see a big upswing even though they lost a bunch of money this quarter, will lose money the rest of the year, but profit expectation beats previous guidance for 2026 suddenly it’s time to pop lmao
