I have a friend that spent well over $60k on a ring. He also does a ton of charity work all over the city. Literally millions a year in charity work. He employs thousands of people......and allows said people to be able to make a living and feed their families etc. You are looking at things way to emotionally and way to black and white.

Correct....but why did you bring that up in the context of the discussion? The discussion was that there are women out there with high paying jobs that quit after marraige.
Your position was that "not even" your sister who has a high paying job and a nanny quit her job. How does that prove the point that there arent women out there that do that every day? The nanny in that discussion is irrelevant to the discussion.

Once that tax gets incurred....he will make the decision as to whether all the liability is worth it. He will probably come to the conclusion that it is not.....he will down size and then there will be several hundred families impacted by that taxation. They will be out of jobs and forced to look for another job. One in which perhaps the CEO is not as compassionate about family. Not at easy going about taking time off for tending to your families needs. Doesnt have quite the benefits etc.
He will just modify his actions based on the variables placed in front of him. At that point, would that make you happier?

There was one Dad who never paid attention to his son. He was always on the phone when he picked his kid up from school. Then his son started lashing out and hitting other kids in the classroom. The parents donated a lot of money to keep him in the private school but finally he was kicked out. So sad......
Being with my daughter was the highlight of my life. I LOVED playing Barbies, American Girl dolls and board games with her. I hated returning to work when she was young.
It's so sad that now kids today are having play dates wearing AI sets or on iPads and no one plays with toys or board games anymore.

No, I don't give a chit about billionaires - I am against penalizing people for success and people can do what they like with their money. If he wants to burn $100k cause he can, no skin off my back, it's his money.
I'm sorry, I don't know, I guess I thought it was relevant at the timeBoomer Rep Crew #1

It's not. Currency is a tool created by the state to facilitate the exchange of goods and services. It should be used productively to that end. It is not something to be hoarded or used to ill ends. That is not and has never been the point of money. Money exists purely so person A can trade with person B without going to person C if person A doesn't directly and immediately have something B wants. The point of trade is fair value exchange of goods and services. Nothing about the jewelry trade or the existence of some dickwad willing to piss away money on it is remotely fair or valid.
Most of these diamonds come from exploitation, are sold by a company with a long history of imperialism, and are bought by people with too much money to piss away. The entire affair is morally reprehensible and rotten to its core.
Everyone involved can and should be summarily executed, imo.

Him downsizing on business since the taxation rate is too high to offset his liabilities bro. Are you actually a basement dweller? I thought that was all just said as a joke but you are starting to show that you lack a sense of real world experience.
If "they" eat his company.....then someone else will need to step in and provide the same goods and services that he does........and that would impact many lives on the end user side as he is in food processing and distribution.

I'll never be worth that much. Once I get to 5 M, I am going to give away 100% of everything made beyond that to charities. 5M is more than enough for me to live a very comfortable and luxurious life without it reaching the level of disgusting and repulsive excess that makes me want to vomit and go on a rampage with an AK and a Che T shirt.
