Fifty percent of New Yorkers say they plan to leave New York City over the next five years, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Citizens Budget Commission. The poll, the first taken by the nonprofit since the COVID pandemic, also found:
Only 30% rate the quality of life in NYC as excellent or good, down from 50% in 2017 and 2008; 33% rate the quality of life as poor.
50% rate the neighborhood they live in as excellent or good.
Only 37% rate public safety in their neighborhood as excellent or good, down from 50% in 2017.
New Yorkers feel only marginally safer riding the subway during the day now as they felt on the subway at night in 2017.
Only 24% rate the quality of government services good or excellent, down from 44% in 2017.
Still, over 50% of New Yorkers rates particular services as excellent or good, including fire protection, household garbage pickup, 311, and bus services.
"It's important to consider context — coming out of the pandemic, employment just recently returning to pre-COVID levels, and increasing affordability challenges — but what New Yorkers' responses crystalize the stark reality that they clearly rate the quality of life and quality of City services as not good," CBC President Andrew Rein said.
"Tremendous progress is needed in many areas, especially for certain populations and in certain neighborhoods. Fortunately, the city leadership's priorities generally align with New Yorkers', including safety, housing, and clean streets, parks, and public spaces."

And nobody to blame but themselves. Losing 50% of their population will give them a lot of room for more illegals. For those that decide to stay, enjoy your hell on earth...

NYPost did an article yesterday, with a few anecdotes from women who recently left, all citing increased crime as one of the biggest reasons for leaving. They just didn't feel safe anymore.
https://nypost.com/2024/03/24/us-new...ple-last-year/
Interestingly enough, NYC just modified their right-to-shelter law, which has kept 183,000 illegals housed in the shelter system. It will no longer provide shelter for adult illegals past 30 days. Illegals aged 18-23 will be given 60 days. Families will still be provided shelter. But, as we've seen, a vast majority of these illegals are single males of fighting age. So, in a month or two from now, they will be seeing tens of thousands illegals out on the street. Things are about to get a lot worse.

Not they’re not.
The New Yorkers leaving are politically conservative or moderate. They’re not hurting your red state. In fact, they’re the reason Florida went from a swing state to solid red. Those Yankees transplants are helping you and only hurting their own state.
Over 884,000 New Yorkers have left since the start of Covid. Kathy Hochul won by about 400k votes. If the right-leaning NYers had stayed instead of running away like pussies, the state would have a Republican governor today. Joe Biden is leading by less than 9% in polling currently despite having won NY by 25 points last time. We have the power to flip New York red IF PEOPLE STOP FUKING LEAVING.

"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

Lol no. A lot of "moderates" and liberals have moved as well. It's not just conservative voters who are moving. And if they're moving from NYC like the OP says (not the state), they are almost certainly liberals.
Lol even harder ay NY flipping red in a presidential election, especially with Blumpf at the top of the ballot.*Sit there and don't know what to do when people sing happy birthday to me crew*

People have been fleeing NY for the last couple of decades. I left myself, all my friends that I grew up with and their families moved after high school. The weird thing about NYC is people leave and are immediately replaced by foreigners and people from out of state with job offers. The NY I grew up in and the NY now are two completely different places, a lot of native NYers have been gone for some time. Manhattan is basically American nomad central, which is where majority of the dem vote come from anyway. The other dems are too poor to afford to leave NY, so it will always be a dem sh!t hole. It's all window dressing.
While it may sound like a strong statement, a look at the reality of the policy shows that it has many caveats and exclusions on just who can be evicted.
"Per the Post, “Under the terms of the settlement, New York City will now essentially be allowed to limit whether a single adult migrant can reapply for shelter after their 30-day stay expires.”
But the paper went on to note that the 30-day tough love policy will not be visited upon migrant families with children.
Further, the policy will not prevent these migrants from simply moving on to another city shelter."
So every 30 days they just move to different shelters.

Sure a lot of people just talk a lot of ish when they say they're leaving, but the thing is they already are leaving Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx.
Census data showing 3 out of the top 6 counties with the biggest outflow of people are 3 of the 5 NYC boroughs. Over 350K net loss in just 2022-23 from people saying fuk this schit:
That's before the worst of the sanctuary city policies and pro-criminal policies had become so public. NYC had 8.7 million people when the Wuhan virus hit, but it will be back under 8 million within the next year. It's on pace by 2030 to be under 7 million. If that happens it will be less populated in 2030 than it was in 1930.
Also gotta LOL at LA County losing so many people. Look at that chart. Fuark. Though I don't think these annual figures include illegals. As we know by now when the 2030 census is done it will include illegals, the only thing keeping NY, CA, IL from losing more and more Congressional seats and electoral college votes. Lefty policies suck? Just encourage illegals to come and be leeches so ya don't lose even more power.Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

People are moving because they’re fed up. Even if they had voted Democrat in the past, the fact that they moved out of state shows a breaking point was reached. It’s safe to assume their minds had been changed. They just decided to vote with their feet instead of voting for the NY GOP. It’s a shame because we could’ve seen real change. Just about all the Sunbelt states enjoying a mass influx have also gotten redder despite complaints from the locals down there.
While it’s true many NYC Dems are also fleeing, they seem to be moving for COL reasons and staying within the Northeast (source: a fkin lot of them are headed upstate srs).
