SOTD for me is Penhaligon's Tragedy of Lord George, sampled from the perfume store.
Very brandy-ish smelling opening which is by design, as the line I believe is based upon recreating scents of a fictional English upper class. Evolves into woody smells, spice and soap. It definitely tells a story, I was imagining a regal gentleman who sips brandy in a lounge before heading for a hot shave.
Hefty price tag though.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

Speaking of body washes, i read about this somewhere online and bought it since it was cheap at target. It surprisingly does smell similar to Aventus
SOTM: Hypnotizing Fire- The Harmonist. Smells decent but has patchouli which is an instant turn off for me. I still havent found a patchouli fragrance that i like. Will be washing this off soon.*Misc Cologne Crew*

Gave Grand Soir another chance and wow...glad I did. Frag got right to work and melted into a buttery vanilla, super addictive.
Got this one, it's fukking amazing, going to be nabbing a full bottle of this and also Mists of Time...going to try out Wicked Good too, heard lots of good stuff about it.AP5 / PRO-Fap

What about Hermes? They have a really extensive line of scents for men.
I remember their Rocabar being a fave, perhaps my #1 fave, when I was in my 20s, although I don't think it was as expensive back then, even considering inflation.
I love the slender green bottle for their Eau d'Orange Verte Eau de Cologne, although for the price (not that bad for a name brand such as theirs) I certainly hope it's not some generic citrus smell but something fairly distinctive and with some sort of complexity and strength. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like citrus - it just gets boring and most seem to smell pretty similar.
Anybody here have any experience with Hermes colognes?

Never owned one, only spritzed it on at department store. Had a very orange rindey/woody smell to me, IMO they're very reminiscent of air freshener smells and I don't find those very appealing as colognes. I prefer muskier and sweeter scents tha have more depth and evolution.
Just me of course.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.
