No evidence was found that adults who tested positive in 2022 were experiencing this increased level of impairment at a higher rate than than those who tested negative, or those who simply had the flu.

The bold is ironic if it turns out to be true - so instead of snide "no one ever had heart attacks before Covid" remarks maybe it'll turn around and be a case of "no one ever had post-viral complications before Covid" ?

I have one major problem with the study. They're pool of subjects were taken from people who tested positive in 2022 which is when Omicron was the prominent variant. I've had both strains - Omicron and the original variant. The original variant was far more severe and pathogenic than Omicron. In comparison Omicron was a cakewalk and a minor annoyance. I did have measurable and documented issues for months after the original strain, so long COVID is real. Comparing sequelae fron two very different strains without making this differentiation is simply lazy or dishonest

Btw- Covid for all intents and purposes is over, the current strains are effectively a cold and we need to move on. Im not vaxxed, im against masks so dont accuse me of being a Covidian

The problem with a lot of these studies is anyone can claim they have long covid. The type of person that would sign up for a study like this is one that has extreme anxiety around covid and is likely to think every little thing is a symptom of long covid. If they have other undetected health problems it's going to mess with the results and show up in the testing. Hard to make any sort of conclusion based on 113 people.
