Coloring is affected by a couple genes and variability in those genes although greatly affecting your perceived ethnicity isn't good evidence of significant genetic variation or mixing.

An Italian who is blonde blue eyed or redhead isn't going to be significantly different from a brunette one from the same region on a genetic level. Even if you think one looks German and the other looks North African.

You don't have to look fully arabic, there are some southern europeans who look more "mediterranean" than others, a lot of north africans can pass as "white", you can't say who influenced who more, they both influenced each other. There are millions of turks with balkan ancestry that's why the average turk doesn't look mongolic. Main reason is just being in one Empire together, and there's also the population exchanges that happened

I was a mortgage/insurance broker for about 6 years, so I spent a lot of time sitting looking directly at these people face to face. I also spent 8 years with a Lithuanian girl & spent a lot of time around Lithuanians, so I can pick them out of a line up easily vs poles.
