Interviewed for a utility natural gas position in Miami last week and accepted the job today. Moving in with my girlfriend in her ocean front Miami beach condo. Start date is March 4th assuming all the pre employment chit goes smooth. I'm exited. I've been saving for 2 years to buy a saltwater fishing boat when I get there. I'm going to miss the mountains in Wyoming but Miami beach is gonna be awesome.

Oh and make sure you run red lights if you;re out at 2:00am for whatever reason
I didn't get to the hotel until 1:00 went to get some normal household chit and EVERYBODY was running redlights around the airport
Asked somebody and its because if you stop it's a possibility somebody comes out and robs/blast you so you can't stay at the intersections in certain spots after hours for too long

Yeah it will be a change for sure. Housing is taken care of. My gf has her condo paid off and going to split hoa fees. I've got a couple rental houses in Wyoming that will cover their mortgage and HOA on Miami beach. Would like to buy a rental with a detached garage in homestead to keep my boat and invest. A lot of people but being on the ocean and Everglades it doesn't take long to get away from everybody... The job is a slight pay cut at first but will pay considerably more in a couple years. Also comes with a pension my current company doesn't offer. Also way more PTO too. I start off with almost 4 weeks of PTO which will be nice.

That area is going to be gentrified over the course of 5-10 years...its the highest elevation in all of miami
Miami has a serious flooding issue, the majority of it is built on limestone/coral, so even if you put a barrier that chit will get flooded from the ground when or if seawater rises

That's awesome bro, from snowy Wyoming to fun in the sun. Sounds like a good time.
Also, i really hope you like astronauts...
because, you know, they have regular spaceship launches at Cape Canaveral.
And i also hope you like joggers...
because, you know, they have a lot of running trails around the beach and stuff.
But what you really have to watch out for dingers...
because, you know, there's a lot of tight parking spaces and i wouldnt want your car to get hit.
Spoiler!

South beach is for sure. It's gonna cost me like 1200 a month to live in a nice condo on the beach so that's pretty reasonable. It's close to the Everglades and Biscayne Bay national park which is both very remote. Can easily get away from people when I feel like it especially with a boat.
