I will admit I remember houses being a lot more decorated for sure. Back when I trick or treated the good houses would have things like fog machines and strobe lights going with creepy music playing and all kinds of effects. I rarely see houses that intense these days.
It's the same for Christmas.
I actually think people have less time to do these things. Everyone is constantly pressed to do stuff at rapid speed. Every work place has terrible work life balance and thanks to technology work never really leaves you at the end of the day. Even more so now that remote work is a common thing. It's all out of whack. The lack of Halloween interest and trick or treating isn't even on the kids imo. It all starts with the adults and the adults don't have time to encourage and/or excite kids to participate in this stuff these days.

Everything is becoming more stale nowadays. This is what happens when technology goes too far and everyone is either scared of everything, have no social connections, or are too busy consooming nonsense to actually live life organically.
I'm 90% sure I don't want to have kids anymore because of all this chit. I don't want my kids to grow up in a world where they can't do all the chit I did during the holiday season.

you exported your cultural vomit to the rest of the world.
chitload of goy golems on the streets of oz begging for jewish treats in the suburbs. some family even carved pumpkins traditional goy golem style with triangle eyes and chit.
10 years ago, people would call you a dumb kunt and ask you to fuk off back to america, ozzie love it or leave it.
Seen photos of rich kunts in asia celebrating it too
pure unadulterated goy golem culture. sickens me to the pit of my stomach.
80% of girls were dressed as that dumb kunt wednesday addams too, part of the fukking braindead goy golem brainwashing program.
fuk you and your jewish masters, fukking retarded seppo dogs.

I feel like there's no mystery or creativity anymore and people feel like they've already seen it all. Think about how when you were a kid, it was fun to walk around during Halloween and see people go all-out with crazy/creative costumes. Nowadays, all this stuff is available on or has already gone viral on social media, so there's less incentive to go out and explore. You'll even get step-by-step instructions on how to do it if you really want to emulate it next year. Same thing with Christmas lights/decorations during December.
Couple that with the fact that we've seemingly run out of ideas on anything now (just look at Hollywood/music as evidence of that), declining birth rates, lack of social trust, and this is what you get.

Yeah I remember the early 90's we would be 10-20 kids deep at each house.
I find it varies from year to year. I was in that area tonight during trick or treat and it was a ghost town. The cold and snow probably kept many indoors but weather never stopped us. Blocks that used to be filled with kids were empty. Many houses with their lights off. On the contrary, last year it was 60 degrees and things were lit.
The decor was over the top this year. Seems like every other house had orange and purple string lights, 30ft tall blow up decorations with animatronics, enormous spiders. Ironically I think most schools ban students from dressing up or celebrating now.
