Roe Vs Wade was a bad law and should have been overturned, but if Republicans turn this into a national issue for the 2024 elections, we're going to fuk ourselves. Trump is getting hate from the Right, especifically let the DeSantis crowd but he's right. Oklahoma had that referendum that was easily rejected.
My personal views, I think the first trimester should be the limit, six weeks is too early. Did he need to come down on tne Florida law that hard? No, but he is playing politics.

Complicated issues are almost never a good idea to have universal position on. However, telling the people that think it is baby murder at any time to shut up and allow it is not going to happen.

I believe abortion should be banned in all trimesters, but I understand that that would be very unpopular nationally. A good compromise would be a ban after the first trimester.
Blumpf being on the ballot is a way bigger issue for conservatives than abortion ever will be, though.*Sit there and don't know what to do when people sing happy birthday to me crew*

Pretty much agree, leave it to the states and stfu about it imo. I suppose it gets a bit dicey when you have some states (and their politicians) pushing hard for ZERO limits, including aborting ones late term that are viable and perhaps even post birth (I'm sure there's people strongly advocating for that).

I don't think he said anything regarding him supporting a federal ban or not.
If he did a say he supports a federal ban after the 1st trimester, yes he's right. I do think that states should be able to ban abortion to their liking, but only up to the end of the 1st trimester.
The issue with Blumpf isn't his policy, most of the time. The issue is that he's retarded.*Sit there and don't know what to do when people sing happy birthday to me crew*

I saw an interesting article the other week. It pointed out that the latest abortion information shows abortion rates have not changed since Roe vs Wade was struck down. The article ~
Striking Down Roe v. Wade Didn’t Change the Number of Abortions
So much for the Left's hysteria.

And yet your failure to compromise will result in many more babies killed as you see it...
I can get on board with post first trimester ban in all cases except mothers life, or extreme medical defect. By making the decision conception (or even heartbeat) you can not get the majority required to stop the heinous late term stuff.
This group believes that fetuses are alive and therefore deserve the right to life guaranteed by the constitution.

Unfortunately the law worked despite it being a bit shaky footing. This state by state thing is a nightmare and shows how absolutely horrific anti-abortionists cna be. The extremes of both sides of this issue are gross.
There should be able to be a way we can come to a reasonable conclusion that abortions up to say, 12 weeks are okay and rape/incest/involuntary impregnation has more leeway (24, 28 weeks, something, just spitballing) with reporting and legal oversight.
We all reasonably agree you shouldn't be able to abort a fetus at 36-41 weeks. We all probably agree that the morning after pill shouldn't be illegal. We just have to find a reasonable common ground in the middle.
This. By virtue of overturning Roe v. Wade it became a state issue, not national.August 2023:

S: 315 x 2, 225 x 18 (PR's)

OHP: 185 x 3 (PR), 135 x 16

We were told the GOP wanted to overturn Roe v Wade so they can send it back to the states. There actually are some candidates like Doug Burgum that leave it at that. He simply takes overturning Roe v Wade as a win and then cites the 10th Amendment... he cites the 10th Amendment for a lot of things including education... and he's technically right but that's not the issue here.
Unfortunately for Republicans they couldn't just take overturning Roe v Wade as a win and then leave it alone. Now everyone has to talk about how far they want to go nationally in limiting abortion and who will sign the most pro life legislation. The best move at this point (in my opinion) is taking overturning Roe v Wade as a win and then citing the 10th Amendment. If you want to nationally restrict abortion, or even all out ban abortions, then fine, but don't run on it as it is political suicide. It's a horrible thing to say, but any GOP candidate is better off just lying to the American people and then handling it once they're in office (assuming they even have the chance to do anything on the issue once in office which could be highly unlikely anyway).YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE
