Imo the 50 hike isn’t possible. It would cause too much market turmoil. They should have done it the last hike but Powell was too chicken shyt.

Although now he probably will when no one expects it because even though he is attempting to be open and transparent he does things that don’t make sense.

Terminal fed funds rate will be 5.25-5.50 to 5.50-5.75, the fed will then pause, rate cuts follow and continue into 2024.

I still haven't seen anyone post the catalyst to get this market moving down.

I don't think most of you guys are going to make it this year but that's ok.

I have covered calls at $40 and $45 for BROS. Opened these a couple weeks ago at the same time.

$40 was for $1.60 per contract
$45 was for $.80 per contract

The $40 options lost $.20 in value today, which makes sense, but the $45 options became $.90 more expensive.

Is this due to low liquidity on the $45 contracts?? Spread is huge.

What expiry? I took a look for $45 exp in a few weeks and there is zero liquidity since they are like 45% otm

I was right. Buffet bought another $350 milli in OXY shares these $55p for June are definitely expiring worthless. He’s got like 22% of the company and could easily just buy the whole dam thing. If I didn’t have so many long shot long dated plays I’d try buying calls and see if I can catch a buyout rumor that he wants the whole thing at $70+

Hit a nice goal recently of generating $100.00/week in dividends from my account I started in March, 2020. Feels good mang!

And before someone tells me I shouldn't be focused on dividends, I'm not. At this point, I'm after the annual returns over dividends and biggest holdings are VOO and VUG. The dividend goal is just a bonus.

I bought it briefly in the past, but immediately sold because I saw that it's a "partnership" and not a corporation, so had more complicated requirements for taxes that I didn't want to have to deal with. Also, I think the dividend yield is a bit deceiving.

Right the distributions are from cash flow and not earnings and taxes suck especially if they operate in multiple states and the tax forms usually come late (like April and may) I don’t fux with LP and MLP anymore

I think you are trying too hard to time the market. If you think it’ll ever get close to the $100 it once was why not start buying now? Consider just buying more monthly and forgetting about it if you are a firm believer in their services.

I mean steady dividends equaling $100/week or more from the ETFs and Mutual Funds I hold. I'm not buying and selling for dividends. I'm just buying and holding a handful of main funds.

Dividends are overlooked IMO, but they are legit how businesses return $$$ to investors. Even when seeking out growthy companies, the growth prospects are the market trying to figure out how much $$$ that business will eventually pay out to investors

Not sure I'll ever be in the business of buying low and selling high, I want to buy low and get $$$ out of the company

Hey y’all not sure how close anyone is following what is really going on in China but the CCP is getting more and more desperate and the perfect thing they could shift focus away would be to invade Taiwan. The moment the invasion starts TSMC would shut down and evacuate their engineers as well as sabotage their fabs. TSMC puts for September are cheap I grabbed one.

I spoke with someone who is on the board at a local credit union, things do not look good for the upcoming YEARS… I was shocked when I heard years rather than months like most analysts say.

Because of SVB? Looks like they held large fixed income positions that turned ugly. Probably not wise and I presume others were more careful with their holdings knowing where rates were headed. Any solid ones that got thrown out with the bad eggs?
