i think specifically the mid-late 80s had it best
GOAT cartoons, tech just starting to be common in classrooms but people didn't grow up to a high degree on it. So they still had technological literacy while not being consumed by it.
GOAT video games but kids still played basketball or hockey outside with their friends every other day after school. Missed the ******** era in high school. It was all about MSN Messenger/AOL/ICQ.
Social media didn't pop off until they were in their mid to late 20s but they are just young enough to understand how to navigate an increasingly technology driven world and can adapt with the times without being total fking boomers.positivity brah crew

Yup this, and because we were around when computers were 'refined' we understand the typical things like an OS and how hardware interacts with it via drivers, and such. Many of us have probably built our own desktops (and experienced the pain of getting hardware/software to talk to our OS and or Mobo.)
A filing system for example is such a basic idea for a millennial, but imagine a zoomer never having used a desktop and is only familiar with the cloud or his Iphone. He'd have no concept of how one would build a directory. They're generally useless as a matter of course, but I could see them suffering from missing the fundamentals because their tech was past it.

Boomers grew up in a time where training was a thing.
No one gets trained now.
Literally at the past jobs I have had, the only training we get is how to use the database.
Nothing else.
We have this machine, no idea what it is:
Or these adding machines that boomers are proud of be able to use, but they can't print a PDF
The secret to use some of these is to know about RPN which no boomer tells you. Basically put the symbols first then the #. So 1+2+3 would be +1+2+3Work is a joke compared to college.

You mean Gen X'ers were peak. Millennials are the bubble wrapped generation of participation ribbons and anti-bullying crybabies.
Boomers are technically challenged, but socially superior to all. Gen X'ers saw the greatest advancements in technology and had some decent social skills. Millennials and Zoomers are socially awkward to the point that some are socially crippled.
Gen X is the forgotten Generation, who grew up with Transformers and GI Joe and patriotic awesomeness. There was no Alphabet rainbow coalition, nor a push for BLM to overtake evil whitey. We all just got along and did our thing.
