Liam Neeson Says ‘Star Wars’ Is Being Hurt by ‘So Many Spinoffs’: ‘It’s Taken Away the Mystery and the Magic’
Liam stated no he would not reprise his role from episode 1 because the franchise has been ruined.
How would you rank them also?
3 > 1 > 2
Ps. Is Kylo Ren actually Hans son? Or Jabba The Huts? Jabba did have sexual intercourse with Princess Leia correct?

I remember getting into Star Wars in the late 90s when they did the digital remasters and added scenes. Was stoked for the first prequel in '99 and was overall underwhelmed. Never bothered with Star Wars since then and seems now to have been the right move.

Phantom menace was okay, but a bit of a disappointment aside from a decent fight scene. Things get progressively better from there. The other two prequels were both great movies, and Revenge of the Sith is right up there with Rogue One and Empire Strikes Back (in my opinion)
The Force Awakens was mediocre, but sort of acceptable as the first part of a trilogy that needs to set up story arcs, in much the same was as Phantom menace was 'okay'. Unfortunately for Disney, this time things got progressively worse at an astonishing rate, and I'd prefer the Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker never existed.

3 > 1 > 2 for me.
I was a young kid when the first one came out. Jar Jar felt actually funny to me as a kid (now it's just annoying to rewatch). I was a mama's boy so the mom + son stuff with Anakin hit home a bit (then continued to do so in the 3rd movie). Darth Maul was badass and epic. Big fan of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's actors, and Samuel Jackson and Natalie Portman of course. Sad ending with Qui-Gon dying. Imagined myself like a young Anakin ready to become something in this world. BTW Anakin's actor came out to be a loser lol, quit his acting and ended up beating his mother up in 2015.
The 2nd one was rather slow in a lot of parts, especially the clone stuff, and the Padme + Anakin relationship building. I really liked the ending though. Also Christopher Lee's Count Dooku is great.
None of them come close to the 3rd for me. Anakin's mom's death by slave owners enraging him to murder everyone there including children, the honest initial intentions for prevention of Padme's death to explore the dark side, General Grievous, Samuel Jackson's badass fight before Anakin's betrayal, the epic final battle.
As a 90's kid I really enjoyed 1-3, and still hold them to high regard. 4-6 were great too of course. But for me it's: 3 > 5 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 2.
7 - 9 had a lot of chit wrong with it IMO. Lots of woke chit. Heavy reliance on "bringing back the old actors" (especially cared for Princess Leia the absolute least)... anticlimactic ending in the 8th movie. Misc threads were fuming about the gambling world and animal abuse segments, alpha women, etc. Also the fighting choreography SUCKED compared to what was in the 1 - 3 movies.Last edited by Visel; 02-18-2023 at 07:02 AM.

#1 was a let down. #2 was better and #3 was by far the best of those three. Clone Wars makes #3 so much better as it filled the holes and made Anakin's turn to the dark side much more realistic, as it added the needed time and incrementalism that the movie didn't. I feel #3 was too rushed, needed to be a longer movie to show the turn.

I was hoping for something better from The Force Awakens then a 3rd death star and same old, gotta destroy it story line, but the movie was OK. Episode 8, should never be spoken of and all copies burned. Episode 9, I thought was rushed and should of been split up in to to movies being a proper 8 and 9.
I agree with ya about Episodes 1-3.
Disney will whip this franchise until it's dead and then whip it again to get more dollars and keep on whipping it as long as it brings in the bucks. They don't care if it's watered down, dragging it out or ruining it's legacy. It's all about the dollars.Official Supp. Misc Beer Crew

My opinion:
The prequels were ok, with Revenge of the Sith being up there with the originals IMO. It was really well done, great story, built up and fight scene at the end.
The new trilogy was pretty terrible. Force Awakens was "ok".....kind of like a lead in into the series, so I was able to accept it. The Last Jedi was absolute trash, and an insult to the entire series. Rise of Skywalker was a decent attempt at salvaging the "new trilogy" but it fell short. Too much to fix, not enough film.
Spin off wise, I thought they've been ok, but clearly just milking the Star Wars name. I'd say Rogue One is the best by far.6'1 - 240lbs

I think the widely held opinion before the Disney sequels were that the prequels 1 and 2 were trash but 3 was really good, even better than return of the Jedi (6)
But yeah, with the Disney chit, prequels look amazing in comparison. Other than rogue one and andor, those are maybe better than the originals IMO.modnegged4life
