Literally confirmed I’m not coming back already and you still can’t stop talking about me lmao
Anyone remember the analogies on the SAT? I’ve got an A-League analogy question for everyone.
I’ll be your test moderator, let’s see who has the highest A-League knowledge over the course of this season.
Question 1
TRUMP : LIBERALS as BACON : ______
A. Spaz
B. JY
C. Pro-Shark
D. KingCanuck
This one is a softball. You should all get this one right or you’re going to community college.

There might not even be an A League season this year. Draft would have to be in the next 2-3 weeks. We have no Commish and managers aren't checking in. We don't even know who we need to replace.
I guess worst case, if we can only scrape together 12 teams we could reboot the league. Hold a first year draftLast edited by saaltydog; 03-11-2022 at 05:31 AM.

I’m in, but a no for being commish. I’m okay with saalty running it. I also feel someone should reach out to Jigsaw and see if this is the year he wants to join. The dude knows baseball and lurks in the thread from time to time.

How sad is it that this team who raked in money last year (as announced by public financials released not long ago) won’t go to a 6th year after stubbornly insisting on a 5/$140 range.
Like… honestly…. Who cares about 1 more year and an extra $25-30 mil.
These morons will blow $18 mil for a single season of an injured Cole Hamels but can’t extend 1 more year they think will be “bad” after he’s aged too much on their offer.
There’s truly 0 logic in the Braves FO
Can’t wait for 2028 to roll around where we offer a 1 year $25 mil deal as a stop gap for a worse first baseman because we were too cheap to just add an extra year for Freeman"One day I won't be able to lift any more. I still think Freeman will take a Braves 5/140 offer over a Dodger 6/170 offer. I think he’s using the Dodgers to get the Braves to buckle (and he should, Braves are being pha ggots)
But I’m only say 60% confident in that belief. It’s be nice if the Braves would just give him the 6th ****ing year already so I can just be 100% confident.
Also everyone thinking Dodgers have an inside track because that’s his hometown forget the fact that his wife is from Florida…. So not really an advantage to moving her to Cali, can guarantee that much."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. It's a joke if the Braves let their homeboy walk because of an extra year. He's one of those home grown players that you give that extra year to just out of respect for what he's done. Braves have signed Acuna and especially Albies to some really good team friendly deals. If they have to pay up for Freeman that's what they should do.
I still believe he winds up signing with the Braves. I can't see him playing for any other team.
Wouldn't mind him on the Yankees. Seems like they want Olson though. Yankees on a budget. They don't make enough.

Not to mention if it’s really down to Braves and Dodgers the obvious state tax advantage of GA means they don’t even need to offer a ton of money for that 6th to match LAD
Making assumptions here,
But if the Braves are offering in the 5/140 range and the Dodgers offered 1 extra year for $30 to make it 6/170, he’d pay an extra $12-$14 mil in state tax on the contract overall in Cali.
So the Braves can’t add 6th year for $16-18 mil basically matching the Dodgers offer after factoring taxes in this hypothetical? That’s pathetic if so.
What do they think they’re going to pay for a 1B in 2028 exactly?"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. Good point on the state tax.
You'd figure just an average plug and play 1B will cost $10-$13 million in 2028.. Didn't the Rockies just sign CJ Cron for 2 years $15 million? Josh Bell makes $9 million. Jesus Aguilar makes $8 million. That's what you're looking at. lol @ not giving Freeman that extra year.

Fun fact I just learned from the MLBTR comments about the tax thing, they get taxed where they play the game.
So that tax difference only applies to the home games, not the road games. In other words the math I did isn’t actually accurate and overestimates how much he’d pay at LAD. He’d still pay more but maybe closer to $6-8 mil more."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. I'm thinking Bateman and Ice won't be back. Bateman kind of disappeared at the end of last season. My memory may be wrong but I kind of remember Ice saying he won't be back.
We haven't heard from TyGuy or Pro. Let's assume they are back. That will leave us 4 teams short, assuming mel, bacon, Ice, Bateman are all out. I doubt with limited time we will be able to fill all 4 slots. I'm thinking we may need to switch to a 12 team league. If we allow LG back in we would only need to find 1 new manager.
With that being said I'd hate to reboot the league and do a first year draft. Managers have sacrificed and accumulated players they want to keep. I see there being a few options.
1. Reboot the league and hold a first year draft.
2. Allow teams to keep players as usual. Dissolve the two additional teams. This will create a huge advantage to people picking early in the draft. We would probably have to reset draft picks. Which will do a disservice to players like ChillWill.
3. Same as #2 except maybe allow teams to keep only couple players. Maybe 1 regular and 1 rookie? This will make the draft a little more fair when it comes to talent.
I have very little interest in switching to a 10 team league.
Anyone have an opinion? Any other options? Im openLast edited by saaltydog; 03-12-2022 at 06:14 AM.

Alternative idea if you need more time is to keep the keeper league intact but place it on hold to resume in 2023 while you replace folks.
In the meantime for 2022 just do a reboot year with a totally separate league where you all draft from scratch for a single season and play with however many people want to play this year.
Just trying to help come up with ideas"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow.
