Why does everyone say quitting smoking is super hard?

My vaping habit was atrocious

1.5, 5 percent juul pod per day since summer of 2019

Decided to quit this Friday

I’m a bit tired and maybe a bit more agitated but this really isn’t a big deal, am I missing something lol? Isn’t this supposed to be way harder, should I go out and get a patch or some nicorrete?

Quitting smoking wasn't that hard. Probably the easiest addiction to quit. Took awhile to quit getting the urge to have nicotine when drinking though.

I share your experience. Quit snus cold turkey a few months back. Despite it being a decade-long addiction, I haven't really felt any cravings. Maybe people say it's hard to quit because they don't want you to start in the first place.

I’m pretty convinced the habit and reward systems of the brain itself are what make up a lot of withdrawal symptoms for a lot of things. If you’re actually able to believe on a subconscious level that you don’t want it then it’ll be a whole lot easier.

You quit at the start of the weekend and you're 2 days in. Wait until you're back at work and getting yucky with the crew after hours.

You're gonna make it and maybe you keep crushing it. Might be helpful to be a little more realistic,too.

2 days isn't enough, just wait. You'll start to get irritated at everything, super thirsty, and you won't sleep good for weeks.

Now ask yourself can you go the next complete year without relapsing & taking another hit ? A lot more difficult

It was hard as fuk for me. I smoked from the time I was 14 until I was 33. In high school I would dip during sports seasons. I quit a few times for 5 or 6 months, but always started up again, usually out drinking, then when I was hung over, then with coffee, then I was smoking a pack per day again. My ex-wife refused to have kids until I quit, probably the best thing that woman ever did for me. I chewed nicotine gum for about 18 months. My daughter just turned 14, so I quit 15 years ago.

Edit, even cotinine averaged only 16-19 hours for its half life

I usually feel great the first month or so and then after a couple months I say phuck it I’m going to just do it because it feels good. I don’t notice anything different whether I’m using it or not tbh. More of a space cadet ADD type when I’m not using it. Obviously it’s not healthy though.
