Central/south America has been ruled by barbarity for centuries. Ripping people's hearts from their body after raiding their settlements and abducting the survivors.

That barbarity did not stop them from being conqeuered by a people that believed they were on a divine mission that just so happened to enrich them immensely.

The problem in this hypothetical is it happens to be part of what contributed to previous iterations of brutal latin rulers: a single group lead by a cohesive ideology versus a collection of groups already competing against one another.

Just lol if you don't think the Taliban wouldn't finesse the cartel rivalries.

When the americans got involved with Pablo all it took was a few fighters to finish him and his prodginy. No one gave a phuck.

The Taliban been around for 25 years. Americans killed Mullah Omar and most of the 1st age Taliban but they are still here stronger than ever.

Two different people altogether. Cartels are just greedy men who have a price.
