Damn missed this thread.
Glad you're on the other end of this thing. I've know quite a few people who were confirmed (not just guessing) who had it and it runs the spectrum. Most were very mild, two were moderate (like you describe), and a couple were in ICU. My BOL in Fla got it and was a prime candidate to have sever issues and it was nothing more than a common cold for him.
Be interested to know if there are any longer term issues for you. Could you keep us updated?

You can take HCQ as a preventative measure. My wife has been taking it for about 6 weeks now and I just ordered some for myself and we renewed her script. We will have enough for several months, well into 2021.
We both take zinc, vitamin D, C, and E. Along with Quercetin. Was friends with Methuselah

Yes, I saw there were no less than 9 studies where HCQ was use prophetically and they were all 100% positive results. I have heard a lot of front line workers have taken it.
The entire HCQ thing is such a political thing. 3rd world nations relying on HCQ (administered early) having 6-7x less mortality rates vs us.. Early administration studies all show positive results.RAW lifts

Agreed. What we should be doing IMHO is giving all those who are at risk HCQ and zinc just as a precaution. Of course, if there is some drug interaction with their other meds then we don't... but, it seems that there is almost no down side as long as you don't go overboard. The dosing is very low and after the first 5 days you only take it once a week.

I have had 22 confirmed positive cases so far at work. Many of those in higher risk people. So far only 1 hospitalized, but not vented (back to work now). All are back to work without any issues, except for two recent cases that are still under 14 day isolation. It does affect people differently, no doubt, but the vast majority of symptomatic cases do not require any real medical treatment, and a large portion of asymptomatic cases in people who have no idea they have it (which makes it extremely difficult to control the spread). I was reading somewhere that the avg life expectancy in assisted living facilities is 6 months, and these types of congregate living centers account for over half of the Covid deaths. Many of the other deaths include elderly people with in-home care. No easy solution there really other than testing the healthcare people almost daily with an accurate rapid test since many of them go either room to room in congregate settings or house to house in at home care providing care to numerous at risk people daily. One positive worker could result in multiple Covid deaths...At the same these people absolutely need the care so no option to further isolate the people getting the care. PPE is only marginally effective, the workers would need to be VERY meticulous with donning, use, doffing to make the PPE use more effective.
IMO, At this point the resources devoted to prevention should be 100% focused on the higher risk populations (age primarily, followed by other underlying medical issues).Last edited by Plateauplower; 09-06-2020 at 08:01 AM.

False alarm. Test came back negative. Just got a chest cold I guess. I don't normally get sick so I was kinda nervous for a minute. Gone through everyone in my family except my daughter.
The funny side of this is it sucks to go outside the home because every time I feel like I have to cough you know you are getting dirty looks from peopleRAW lifts

I’m very surprised. Negative for just you, or multiple family members? PCR has up to a 37% false negative potential. Typically it *should* have a lower false negative potential if done while symptomatic though. I’m basing this on people with known exposure to confirmed positive cases getting tested and being negative then later testing positive likely because the virus load wasn’t high enough to be shedding at the time of the first test.

No you misunderstood. my wife is the only one who got tested because we all got the same thing. I was just saying that this cold has gone through everybody in the family except my daughter.
a couple days prior I had called my son's doctor and he said that they didn't think there was any reason to test my son. My wife got a little worse and wanted to make a doctor's appointment but they were the ones who said we need to test prior. So she got tested
I'm just operating under the assumption that we all have the same thing.RAW lifts

Yeah highly likely that you have the same thing, regardless what virus it is. It would just reduce / almost rule out a false negative Covid result with multiple family members tested.
My wife and daughter have fall allergies. Took my daughter with to Sams club yesterday and she started sneezing lol people looking at us like we were leppers

Just thinking that a bit like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_De...of_Kevin_Bacon "Six degrees of Kevin Bacon" and how you can look at degrees of separation from yourself to a given person using current or former acquaintances and friends (or one famous person to another). Just for fun I'm 2 from John Lennon, 4 from the Queen (of England) 4 from current PoTUS etc
There is now "degrees of Covid"... how many acquaintances are you from a *known and currently active* suspected/confirmed Covid case. Internet forums don't count, sorry bb.com!
Someone in youngest daughter's class is displaying Covid symptoms (test result not back yet) so I'm now down to scoring a 2
This game isn't anywhere near as fun as the original version

I wonder if this pandemic fiasco is enough to make unhealthy Americans consider changing their ways once we are in the clear? With obesity, and that is just 1 issue, being at 42% maybe they will.

For some, sure, but for the majority I'm not optimistic. Even without the pandemic obesity was a still a major threat to one's health and yet here we are. Smoking has been proven to promote lung cancer and people still smoke. Being morbidly obese, once you get there, is extremely difficult to get out of specially if you've never been fit or have never exercised in your life.

Most that I've known had very little issue with the virus. The one that died had serious health issues, though he was in his late 50's he had already nearly died a couple of times from heart issues. He had other health problems too, so he was a prime candidate to pass from covid or the flu for that matter.
