    EZ Curl Bars and Crossfit

Dan Bailey of Crossfit fame is showing off his home gym on his channel. Rogue's EZ Curl Bar https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-curl-bar-cerakote is on display. I'm seeing the future of crossfit here, more emphasis on arms

The design is similar to Ivanko's and Eleiko. I don't know what it's called. They all vary on the bends.

How different are these from ones available in globo gyms? People are often surprised by the quality, which I assume is primarily bends, then thickness and knurl.

How bad are they for doing lightweight (130 lbs) front and back squats?
I have no gym access so how bad are common EZ curl bars for doing 130 lb front and back squats?

This guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gepmW-k_uGk is doing around 60, looks ok to me. I used to do 130 lbs that way but with a straight bar.

I used to do walking lunges with a curl bar at an old Bally's I worked out at. I only used the curl bar because it was short enough to put into place on my traps/rear delts and walk through a doorway so I could do the lunges up and down a hallway. No floor space to do them in the actual workout room. It wasn't uncomfortable on my traps, seldom went with more than 35s on each side due to the diameter of the plates, don't think I could've comfortably done that with 45s on each side. I have no idea about front squats using a curl bar, but I don't think it would work for me, I always put a straight bar on my clavicle/front delts and held it into place by crossing my arms. I never could do them with the fingertip style grip.
