I respectfully echo all sentiments expressed above.
I'm going to a local community Veteran's Day meet/greet so to speak from what I gather.
I'm not much into these sort of public gatherings or drawing attention to myself but I'm a new kid here and feel it may be a good thing for me to meet some of the locals in this context.

This was written in 2009 back when Obama was the President:
HOW MANY NIGHTS?
How many nights must they be over there?
With their faces in their pillows,
Trying to sleep off all their fear.
How many nights must their babies cry for them?
Never knowing if their Mommy's and Daddy's,
Will ever come home again.
How many nights must we watch the lights go out?
At the houses where all the brave men and women
Would come in and out.
How many nights must we pray for their return?
With their mind, body and soul
For the Love they have earned.
How many night must we try to understand?
That the fear we have for them
It all goes hand in hand.
How many nights?

Hooyah, Patriots.
Even though today is a day to honor all veterans...
...it's especially a day to honor the countless brave phuckers who had the stones to go down fighting.
Even if in pointless or unjust conflict.
And to the sliver of 'veterans' that were nothing but ****bags while 'serving', and now try and milk the title...pfffffftt.
Happy Veterans Day everyone.
