The Earth is neither flat, nor round. It is an oblate spheroid, wider at the equator than the poles.

There are nine Realms. Earth, also known as Midgard, is one of the realms... each existing on its own plane.
In one sense Midgard appears round because if you go far enough in one direction you will eventually end up where you started... but that’s a magical effect of not being able to leave the plane... or not being able to see the exits, like a maze you wander around in and end up where you started without even realizing you were walking in a circle.
In another sense, if you had the ability to perceive the planes correctly, they are each flat discs existing in their own dimension. You can’t perceive the dimensions.
It’s like if you could only perceive two dimensions, a sphere would look like a circle. We can’t really perceive the dimension of time so we only see the now... when we know time extends into the past and into the future from now... but we can’t see it just like a two dimensional being couldn’t perceive the rest of the sphere even if they know, intellectually, that it’s there.
We can’t comprehend the nine dimensions of existence so things look like planets and galaxies separated by enormous volumes of space, when in reality the realms are relatively close together but you have to see them correctly to be able to travel between them. It’s like trying to climb up the outside of your house to get to the second floor because you can’t see the stairs...
...or a nine story building that you look up and think it’s so far to the top, because you don’t realize there’s an elevator.Last edited by tanksoldier; 08-19-2018 at 02:55 PM.

Not sure if trolling with norse/god of war reference or just been missing too long.
How would one perceive the plane correctly? By sending a space craft far away and taking a picture of it? Because we did that and the evidence was fairly conclusive.
Edit: we see things in 3 dimensions and can differentiate a disc from a sphere. Next.*Only misc at work crew*

Nope. That’s like living inside a bucket and using a camera to take a picture of the inside of the bucket and using that as proof that the bucket is all that exists. The camera sees the same thing you see.
Edit: we see things in 3 dimensions and can differentiate a disc from a sphere. Next.
There are 9 other dimensions, for 13 total, we can’t see or perceive beyond the basics of width, breadth, height and time.
We can’t see time but we know it’s there because we experience it... there are nine other dimensions, each with its own realm, even further beyond our ability to perceive than time is.

Over the centuries various holy men and mystics have gained small glimpses of reality. If you put all of those glimpses together you gain a small view of what reality is really like, rather than the false image our limited perception can give us.
I seem to have missed that lesson in my education.
There is a certain rock on Mars. You haven’t learned anything about that rock in school, but I guarantee it’s there anyway.
Peer reviewed paper?
Issac Newton’s theories were peer reviewed.... and wrong.
All peer review does is make sure the only accepted theories are those that everyone accepts.
ETA: here’s an article about 120 published papers that were gibberish... but published anyway.

I know posters in this thread are just messing around, but some people seriously believe this. I don't get it at all. You just need to look at a large lake, or the ocean, and you can easily see that the surface is curved. So even if you believe that all the pictures from space are part of conspiracy, you can see with your own eyes that it's definitely not flat.
Some of these conspiracy theories must be a subject for interesting psychological studies...

Not only is it not flat it curves at a rate of almost 8 inches per mile

The trolling here is brilliant, but sadly, there are those who truly believe the Earth is flat. Of course, they ignore something important...like science. But, hey, mystics know SO much more, don't they.

Besides, if the Earth was flat, cats would push sh!t off the edge--because they can."Don't call me Miss Kitty. Just...don't."--Catnip. Check out the Catnip Trilogy on Amazon.com

Amazing in the big Misc that anyone can post the most ridiculous subject with some made up reasons why they believe it and after a page or two, there are a number of bone-heads that will support it to the death.
Some of the threads I remember are:
1) The Earth is Flat
2) Hitler was a Great Leader
3) Would you date a Tranny?Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.
