Hey everyone,
I just wanna know what people look for in a gym, I wanna see differing points of view, equipment preferences, atmosphere, etc.
Have fun with this one and really let me know what you think please!

A Lunk Alarm.....jk
I like to see good variety of dumbbells, kettlebells, plates, cables and machines. And a legit rower in the cardio area....and of course power racks....and actually my RF now has a cross training room with heavy bag, battle ropes and a tire.....so I’m good!Dad

Atmosphere is important to me these days. I can get by with a bench, squat rack and place to deadlift. Most places have DBs so I can fill in the rest with those. The gyms I've enjoyed the most are the ones that people are serious about lifting and understand that gyms are loud. Deadlifts aren't quiet (even when riding down each rep) and neither is racking a heavy bench or squat. The gym I just left was eerily quiet and seemed more like a hangout than a gym so you were out of place if you went there to workout. Second place like that I've experienced since moving here. Shame too because both of those places had such great equipment to use. Even bumper plates and chalk... real confusing.

The people who lift there are far and away #1.
Monolift, competition benches, good bars/variety of bars is a nice bonus and #2 on my list. But given the choice between my training group and good equipment, I would take the group and walk out squats with bent bars on an uneven floor.
My gym has both requirements. I realize I'm lucky as hell in that regard.Olympus Labs Representative
