They already leaked the script for the next movie.
There is a scene with Kylo Ren sitting in the corner watching while Finn ****s Rey. Kylo who has now switched sides to the Resistance goes with the other remaining whitemales and sacrifice themselves during the final battle which gives The Resistance the boost they needed to overcome the patriarchal white supremacist organization. The women and disenfranchised racial groups all celebrate with a parade and then the credits roll.

Im sure this wont fly with Disney. They have a reputation to protect. I would think Rian Johnson will be the scapegoat for this disaster and won't direct another star wars movie ever.
Disney should have just followed the expanded universe storyline since there is so much content.>>>>>Florida State Seminoles Tomahawk Nation Crew>>>>>

It's actually pretty much explained by Snoke before he gets Darth Mauled....
Rens increase in dark-side power caused the force to raise another in the light-side to keep balance... that was the kind of point to the whole film - even Luke himself said the Force does not belong to the Jedi, and for them to claim it dies with them is vanity.Jan 2012 - 286lb

Absolutely blows my mind how there's so much Star Wars lore around and yet they still fuked up in the story department, it's unforgivable really

I don't have the problems with writers putting in their politial views in their works.
Aristophanes already did this two and a half millenia ago and most pieces of great literature are that great, because they shaped our world by providing brillant social commentary.
I doubt many people would would mind those political messages so much, if they weren't that ham fisted, well-written and actually made sense.
Rey being a prodigy is okay, but she would be a much greater hero if she actually had to work hard for her goals. Fighting and clawing to overcome your odds is what makes heroes great. Jackie Chan starts most of his fights on the ground having to fight his way to his feet before beating the villain. Now there are movies, that are pure power fantasies like Arnold's Commando, but those are not a 9-hour trilogy nor as serious poltwise as the new Star Wars. And even Arnold in Commando has an actual motivation to fight, while Rey is just there for no real reason at all besides some vague vision.
Rey showing girl power and being a hero to young girls is a nice thing, but it would be much more satisfying if she had to actually fight for it.
Purple-haired sloot is supposed to show how women can be great leaders. But she could have foreseen Poe going against her and easily stopped him just by being a little more emphatic (or by telling the entire crew of her escape plans, which would actually make their escape much faster since they still have to board their ships and take provisions with them to not starve to death in that ice base) She than proceeds to suicide attack in that ship totally forgetting she could have just used the autopilot or some droid. It seems with Poe and her leading the rebels Leia left the only two people in command, who are actually dumber than Finn.
The weapons trader holiday paradise seems like a good idea, but one cannot tackle such a complex topic in two 10-second-monologues. If a large part of the movie played there and the place was actually fleshed out, it could have provided some interesting social commentary. This way it feels just forced.
Nevermind it does not make sense in that universe. Rogue one shows the Empire having their own weapon production. The first order were building an even better Death Star on their own last movie, what would they need some shady arms dealers for? If those arms dealers sell to both sides why do the rebells not buy T-Fighters and the First Order not X-Wings?

From what I understand, Hammil backpeddaled hard after a while and said that he actually loves the directors idea for luke ... So I dont know what happened, whether Disney stepped in and told him to fall back in line, or whether he had a change of heart.
There was definitely some fukkery afoot though ... Not a fan of what they did with Luke.Sig line can't be a novel

Guy has every right to be upset. I remember watching Star Wars as a kid and Luke was a "hero of heroes" type of guy. The guy who brought balance to the force, who turned it all around. Luke was the guy you looked up to, who you believed in, depended on. What on Earth would turn him into some bitter old man who gives up on his beliefs.

I think his portrayal in this movie was bad as well.
The main problem with him in the new movies IMO was how all over the place and inconsistent his characterization was. Him not appearing in the first movie and just letting his best friend get slauthered was weird. Him totally leaving all the Jedio stuff behind was not sufficently explained by him being disappointed in Kylo Ren. Him getting turned by one appearance of Yoda seemed too fast after disappearing for years.
His final stand was kinda badass, but I was hoping for something like this

JJ never intended to come back to Star Wars. He said he was done after The Force Awakens. He complained about being away from his family months at a time while he filmed in London for Star Wars. His family lives in California. Him and Kathleen also clashed during production.
Though he's coming back for Episode IX because he says, "I'm learning from my mistakes from seven and I can do better. This is another once in a lifetime opportunity. I't's going to go in a different direction this time. It's like being a kid again."

There's a chit ton of negativity, and a lot of it is warranted, but for the real die-hard fans(35+ misc crew), episode 8 had some great moments and made a lot of sense.
Like in any Disney movie, the cuckery exists, and makes me angry as fak.
But holy fuark brahs, who thought we'd get to see Yoda and Luke together again?
The clips of "middle age" Luke were also pretty awesome.
A lot of people think they made Luke into a joke at the beginning, and he didn't even seem like the same character, but it was a lot like when Luke met Yoda. Yoda was a hermit, and was intentionally crazy when he first met Luke.
That last half was pretty good though, and Luke felt like Luke.
Definitely a Disney cash-grab, but would watch again/10.Misc Entrepreneur Crew

That look on his face at the end of the first video when he turns and looks at Rian ... utter disgust ...
Man i feel bad for Hamill. Imagine being contracted to play a role your completely disagree with in your very core in a film series that was the pinnacle of your life. Fuuuuuu"There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle." -Gym Jones

Dude that whole Yoda/Luke scene was terrible and completely out of place. Yoda shows up like Thor and blast a lightning bolt on some ancient texts which the director/writers offered no insight on, nor the island itself, and the origins of the Jedi/Force. The Yoda garbage was complete fanboy play. Would of much rather scene Leia, Luke, and Solo together one last time.
Lukes character was so poorly done. Absolute trash writing/directing. You forget that when Luke met Yoda, Yoda's character wasn't established yet. Also, even though Yoda was a hermit ... he was still at his core the same wise buddha'ish Yoda. He was the Master and Luke the apprentice. In this version Luke is the bumbling wack'job that is supposed to be a Force god ... who then gets molly-whopped by some chick that hasn't even reached apprentice level.
I'll never watch this movie again unless there is some director cut or fan re-cut (would be an interesting project) that fixes everything."There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle." -Gym Jones
