I want to buy a turbo trainer to keep biking inside in winter and am thinking of getting the Tacx Blue Motion, is that a good choice to start with?
I've already found POV videos of bike rides of awesome places on youtube that will be great to watch while training.
If I like it I may get an interactive one a year or two later.

Yes, the angular momentum of the rotating wheels provides directional stability...wheels 'want to continue' rotating about the same axis. The faster they're spinning, the less counter force you need to provide by hand to offset dangling groceries. No doubt you're still adding some counter force, it's just quite small when you're rolling more quickly.

Finally got out on the bike last night, got 20 odd miles in with a friend of mine and it was good to just go out for a social ride.
The new DHB Windslam tights were pretty good, the legs are a bit short though but I don't think I would want the next size up everywhere else. Merino socks and overshoes kept my feet toasty.

50 degrees this morning and these were perfect. It was low 30's here on Weds and they weren't quite good enough at that temp.
I've switched to mornings. I'm not crazy about riding in the dark, but if you get out early enough there's a hell of a lot less traffic to worry about. He's not getting up Jim!

the thing I like about riding in the dark is it is very very easy to see me, and it's easy for me to see others. I have a pair of tail lights (one steady, one blinking), a pair of headlights (both steady), and one of those Proviz jackets that light up your entire torso.
oh yeah, fun cyclocross race today

Got this badboy turning up today. We floodlight now brahs. Was going to get the Bonty Ion 800R but the battery life and output was better on the Cateye range.
Was only able to Use my Volt 200 on low setting due to poor battery life (1 hour ish at 200 lumens), this should throw out 450 Lumens for 5 hours. Full power might be good for some night riding off road.

The problem with bright light is that you'll burn through a lot of battery. That means you'll either have a heavy battery or have to carry spares. I love my Niterider Pro 1800, but its way too bright to ever use on the road.
Even at the lowest setting I have to angle it nearly facing towards the ground to keep from blinking motorist. I don't think I've ever needed to use the high setting. I just wanted to be prepare just in case I ever dared venture down a lonely bedroom neighborhood road.🎥

got a nice set of rollers. been rolling before work... fukin goat man. i would ride in the mornings but i got sick from the cold weather.
i can feel a huge difference in my balance when i mtb. i can do a slow crawl over uphill tech and conserve tons of energy. i did get some jumpers knee, prolly from the frequency of cycling every day so i got a patellar strap.
edit: i have goals to reach at least top 10 in enduro races spring 2018.be the turtle in the race.

I recently got the Fenix BC30R and love it. It's USB rechargeable and has an OLED display that tells you exactly how many hours and minutes of battery life you have at the current brightness setting. It also has a remote you can attach to your handle bar to adjust the brightness without even having to move your hand. The most I got the battery down is 75%, normally it still reads 100% when I'm back home (shows in 25% increments).
