They made some bad deals in the past (Kroos sale <- biggest feck up in their history, maybe Sanches is going to flop too) but most if not all of their marquee transfers (Ribéry, Robben, Martinez, Thiago, Hummels, Neuer, Lewa, Vidal, Boateng) have been hits and even Costa who is not wanted anymore is going for 45m. The last three big transfers (Hummels, Vidal, James) cost the same as Pogba and all three players are arguably better players in their respective positions.

You tell me. Only reasons I can think of is Bonucci has fallen out with the management and doesn't want to leave Italy. Our board are full on cucks when dealing with outgoing players, and will never hold a player against their own will. The 40m that I've read about is pathetic and I can think of at least 3 EPL clubs who would pay 60m in a heartbeat. If Bonucci has to be sold to fund other moves I'd be fine with it as we own plenty of great CBs and no longer play with 3 at the back, but to a direct rival and for so cheap is pathetic. Hopefully its all talk, like with Sandro.
