Can only imagine the smug grin behind Trump supporters who read chit like this and actually believe it's sound logic lmao. One person riding on a private jet is not going to do anything to the climate. Changing the structure of how an entire country gets their energy so that they pollute less will, which is exactly what he's trying to do with Tesla and SolarCity.

i think a lot of people have conflated "culture wars" with things that actually matter. like, y'know, economic policies and such. the lower class has been taking a beating in this country for so long and at the end of the day they have no one to blame but themselves, because at the end of the day we do live in a democracy. if you aren't ceo 10k/day you have no business voting for any republican. we don't have to guess about what happens when we move toward supply side economics. we have tried it before and it has been proven to be a failure for any working class american.

I'm certainly no economics expert, but from my very limited understanding I thought that both supply side and demand side have their merits, it just depends on how the economy is functioning at that particular time that determines which is the better option. Such as, in periods of recession, demand side is more productive, and otherwise supply side is the smart move. I dunno, just what I've heard. If you have some economic knowledge, feel free to educate me.

Let's say everyone was a CEO and had places to be. What then? We expect the other person, and everyone else to change their behaviors in order to help the environment, while we grant ourselves special exemptions to the rules?
I get what you're saying, but in a sense it's difficult to digest. Because the people, the rich, who typically ask of others don't themselves seem to want to abide. It's like China. They expect other country's to offset their carbon emission usage. They're too busy producing to really give it chit, so they shrug the responsibility off to other countries.Last edited by thunderykoala; 06-03-2017 at 12:07 AM.

Listen, I understand the hypocrisy of preaching about preserving the environment while traveling in a private jet and releasing more CO2 than the average person ever will but realistically there is no there other option for a guy like Elon.
Conversely, if Elon drove a F750 and constantly preached about the environment then yes, we can all agree he is a colossal *******The training is nothing, the will is everything. The will to act.

Time is extremely expensive to Musk. He runs 2 companies based in different parts of the country and needs to get to each destination in the most efficient way possible to save time. A private jet is the best ROI for this.
When you run 2 companies with a combined value in the $100B's, you cant be late because of a delayed flight.
The guy operates and thinks on a different level to everyone else.
Plus he has contributed 1000x more to the environment than anyone in the thread.

This is how stupid miscers are. They don't even realise where the majority of emissions come from.
I'll link you to the article (something miscers find abhorrent, actually reading) took me phucking 5 seconds to google it. http://www.wri.org/blog/2006/10/gree...here-they-come
"Energy consumption is the major contributor of GHGs (61%). Within energy consumption, 40% is electricity and heat generation, another 20% is transportation and the remainder is building heat and industry.
But energy consumption is by far not the only GHG source. Land-use change is the second largest contributor globally. Land-use change includes deforestation, reforestation (replanting in existing forested areas) and afforestation (creating new forested areas). Together, the activities under land-use change can be either a source or a sink of greenhouse gases; they can either contribute GHGs to or remove them from the atmosphere. Agriculture is another significant GHG source.
The major greenhouse gas is of course carbon dioxide (CO2) and nearly all CO2 comes from fossil fuels and land-use change. But methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), which mostly come from agriculture and waste, are also significant GHGs and shouldn't be discounted."
This shows that outdated technology is the issue, not millionaires/billionaires owning private jets since that can easily be corrected. The Paris Accord would reconcile that as it makes efforts for nations to look into new technology to make things like airplanes using fossil fuels a non-issue.
If you discount from the lack of technology into airplane engines and consider that these prominent figures are serious about climate change, their airplane rides are a drop in the ocean towards the negative compared to the tidal wave of good that their actions will do. I applaud his efforts and two lines of your text have done little to convince me otherwise.

ROFL. He has to be practical. Is it worth him to comply like one of these environmentalists shrills in order to not be "hypocritical" or consistent to his cause? No. All these people crying who are contributing nothing, life isn't black and white. Yes, let's make him use a canoe next time. If I was him, I'd fly my private jet Top Gun "Tower flyby style" over the crowds and choke them out. Give them something proper to moan about. Once again "feelgood" humans and their self-satisfaction always have to have their little crusade., 99% of which contribute nothing of true value to society that any functioning human or robot could do.
All these conventions/meetings/summits bring out the retardation in full force.EoR is powered by unique Nanomolecular Hyperdispersion Technology. Giving him high bioavailability and myocellular saturation.
