Mine is in 308, but the barrel thickness was too thin to hang a can off without significant POI shift and heat effects. My main reason for switching to 6.5CM is recoil and windage; it gets fricken howling where I shoot. What barrel did you use for the rebarrel? I'm eyeing the prefit's for the CTR after I get one (and shoot out the barrel lol); Criterion or Patriot Valley Arms. I'm not a fan of being restricted to having a gunsmith do it. Hoping to just keep the CTR in the original stock if I can be happy enough with it.
How do you like the bushnell DMR? I was looking at one before I got the gen2 razor and gen1 pst.

Looked like ful, liked the angles roof too. Wrap your boots you *******a
thanks for recommending that Springfield, I stripped it tonight for the first time and was pleased to learn that it has a polished feed ramp and a match grade bull barrel. There was also what looked like an etching of a number on the frame, Im guessing there was one on the slide as well as they must be a mated pair. Not sure about this tho.

Rthoe where you at? Had a guy tell m he was retired with his service weapon (a Barrett .50) when he retired after serving about 10 years with marsoc he is a classmate of mine in an engineering program, probably 32-35 yo, seems like a genuine dude and have no reason to believe he's reading other than I thought that was strictly off limits

Someone may have already mentioned it in here but S&W is starting a $75 rebate on Shields on April 1. Apparently it is in response to Springfield's Gear Up promotion which gives you 4 additional mags, a holster, and mag pouch. Both promotions end June 30. I'll probably pick up another Shield and XDS based on these deals.

That rebate is weak AF compared to Springfield's offer lol. But that's $75 you could use to buy more stuff for it I guess. I am REALLY hung up on the bi-tone Springfield 45's! The only problem with the Field's is that the slide won't rack back unless the grip safety is pressed in. Probably not a big deal but geez Springfield, before we know it the whole pistol is going to be one huge safety puzzle we'll have to solve before we can load a mag and fire it.
Might not be an issue once I get my hands back on one to mess with.

Are the holster and mag pouch that good? When I've checked out freebie/included holsters and mag pouches they haven't ever been something good enough to be a go-to so they wouldn't actually save me any money.
Four extra magazines...you can get 4 Shield magazine for $85 shipped.
Seems pretty close. Besides who wants a Springfield?

Also just something cool to note. With the Cabelas Club card, you can use it ANYWHERE to get points which I already have close to $50 right now from my previous statement. TFW I can possibly get a "free" 45 acp pistol at some point if I can wait long enough and build up my rewards! I mean no you can't use the rewards anywhere else but to build up some spare change for your hobby is great.
