    Protein Powder on Keto

I have been reading about drinking protein shakes on the keto diet and there seems to be a mixture of yes it's good and no it isn't also the same for drinking it before bed. Just wanted some input on taking carb free protein shake while working out before/after and drinking it before bed while on a keto diet

I think if you are just trying to hit macros and need more protein it isn't a bad thing. It is highly processed and does carry a pretty big insulin punch but I have not had terrible experiences.

That being said I think there are plenty of ways to get protein in without it, and I'm not a fan of huge amounts of protein anyway (I'm a big muscley guy and 150g seems to be enough for muscle growth)
Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.

Consuming multiple (2-3) meals which are almost entirely protein tends to leave one consuming multiple mostly fat meals at other points in the day. It can create unappetizing fatty meals.

It's many times more palatable to combine the fats/protein.

I use isopure zero carb protein. The coconut one is the best tasting one I've found (some are pretty raunchy). I use it only post workout to get a quick 25G of protein in then eat an hour later.

id make sure you're counting up your daily protein intake... with too big a surplus of protein your body will convert it into glucose and negate any effects of the keto diet.

Nutrient timing is pretty low on the ladder of important stuff. You mainly want to get your macros from whole foods. Use powders to supplement. They are good for a quick fix, I drink one every day to make sure I am hitting my protein goal while.
