Hi! I'm trying to get some advice on my workout routine. I've been always a skinny girl but after two years on antidepressants I put on 35 pounds. When I stopped the antidepressant I was able to lose all the extra weight by running and doing intense cardio. Now it seems I'm my all self back...I'm 141 pounds and 5'6 feet tall. My BFP is 22 and I feel I have still a lot of fat in my abs. Should I keep lifting weight and trying to bulk? Or do I have to do some cardio to lose the extra fat? Sorry for my english, I'm a native spanish speaker. You can see my pic transformation in my prof. Thank you!

lifting has to be there regardless of your goal. you should train same way. whether you lose fat or gain muscle will be determined by your nutrition. i would continue to cut until you are pleased with your bodyfat percentage. then do a bulk for 6-8 months. again never quit lifting with intensity during cut.

Thank you! I was able to lose the extra weight running and doing intense cardio. After 4 months I was doing pretty well but now I've been lifting for a month and I can see the difference in my legs, arms, butt...everywhere but my abs lol. I'll keep on with the lifting and the diet and cross my fingers to get results.

It's good you got stronger. Keep lifting. Look to your meals to promote weight gain or loss, look at your whole days eating. Some cardio or other activity can be good for health, and general fitness. But if you want to gain or lose some weight, always start with your diet.
The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl
