Have all your stores picked out ans which deals you will score before scampering to the next store? Thrilled about the aspect of emptying your bank account or possibly maxing out a credit card or 3?
Yea me neither, working the next 2 days & will enter exactly zero stores and could not possibly care less about buying crap for people that the vast majority of the yr you wouldn't give the time of day to.

Black friday pisses me off. You have infected us across the pond, yet again. We don't have thanksgiving, but as of the last few years, we now have all the black friday crap.

About 15 years ago we badly needed a washer and drier and I waited at the Sears door at 4 AM to get one of those amazing deals that they have only a few of to get you into the store. As far as I can recall, that's the only time I've participated in Black Friday in person or online. And it was an amazing deal on a good washer and drier that lasted for years.
We go by the principle that no matter how much something is discounted, it's still cheaper to not buy it.
btw, Black Friday existed for decades before Amazon.com existed.

Yes, it's when retailers typically go from being in the "red" to the "black" as far as profit and having a thriving Capitalist society goes.
I guess we should all shun that and the time and a half that a lot of retail employees enjoy, not to mention the Chinese kids making our Rokus and FitBits.
Chinese kids need that money!Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Until 2010 it didn't even exist in the UK, I believe it was Amazon that started the trend. Now everyone is mad for it.
I won't be visiting any stores but will be taking advantage of the offers online as there is some stuff I need anyway so I might as well make some savings.Instagram - @dazlittle123

Its the utter disregard people have for others when waiting in line and the doors open that gets to me
all that rushing and pushing past people to be first in the store is a recipe for injury or worse
if you are participating
consider your fellow human beings

Good Lord, Corbi I thought you'd lost your mind when I read this thread title. I am not a shopper. Buy all my kids' presents online if I can.
Was in retail for 13 years. Dealing with all those F'ing people on black Friday was the absolute worst. I am often thankful that I'm not in that business anymore.

Norway has adopted this black friday thing. I couldn't stand listening to the radio today for all the black friday commercials. Some have taken it a step further and are saying stuff like "We are running black friday all week".
There was a progam on TV last night showing how most shops screw up the prices a week before by 25% and then drop back 20% on black friday and announce a great 20% discount when in fact the price is higher than normal.
Doesn't appear to have made much diff to the brainless masses crowding outside shopping centers before opening times though. What a sick world-

I get the boys back together from our old fire team and we descend on a few of the busier stores in mock training to keep our skills sharp. We canvas, locate, extract, and protect an asset, sometimes we aid occasional older citizen secure a particular purchase. So far we’ve only been banned from 1 store, special nod to the L.P. staff at Merle Hay Mall Target store in Des Moines it was a pleasure working along side you guys.

In all honesty, I've done it a few times, and have never seen anything like the horror stories in the news. Parking tends to be a bigger issue, and slightly longer lines in the stores.
I don't look forward to it, plan for it, or need it in order to get my shopping done. We used to car pool with a couple we were tight with, and it was not the horror it has become famous for.
With that said, I had a sweet training session today, and we are heading out later to pick up a humidifier for the house.
