I figured with the athletes heading off to compete today and starting competition on Saturday we might as well get started with predictions
I don't expect a lot of surprises this year with Z out. Going basic
1. Shaw
2. Thor
3. Hall
Dark horse: Terry Hollands, Jerry Pritchett

I have been looking over the results so far and after using various algorithms and calculations using the finals events, I have come up with my amended top ten list.
1) Shaw
2) Thor
3) Hall
4) Loz
5) Mateusz
6) Caron
7) Martins
8) Belsak
9) Gregorz
10) KonstantineLast edited by Lpenny; 08-16-2016 at 09:31 PM.

I couldn't understand how the squat has taken so many ppl out since you can do it equipped and it's not even to parallel (took out thigpen and benni last year btw), but after seeing some vids, that bounce at the bottom can be really brutal for throwing people off balance.
Looking at the finals events, I can actually see Hall possibly winning 3 events (circus barbell, deadlift, and stones if he does them like he did last year at WSM) and still getting 3rd. I like Shaw for plane pull, Thor for frame, on KB toss I'd say it's a toss up *pun intended* between Thor and Shaw. Stones could be Shaw, Thor, or Hall.
Some Dark Horses: Martins Licis, I've been following him awhile and feel like him and Mateusz will be fighting for top spot in a couple years. Martins still needs to work on his static strength, but he's improving by leaps and bounds and can move like lightning. I also feel like he's a bit undersized and has lots of room to grow. Mateusz has incredible overhead power for his size/age and also moves well. Plenty of room to grow there, as well. Loz off his ESM victory is probably best suited to break through to the podium this year. He could very well win the frame and possibly the plane pull.Last edited by Lpenny; 08-16-2016 at 05:20 PM.

Z called out Shaw after the Arnold because Shaw said he hurt a hamstring, but still set a WR 555 stone load after the company. Z basically said you can't load a big stone with a hurt hammy. Then Brian got mad and said that Z only won because they cater the events towards Z's strengths.

Yeah, basically.
I'd argue with that, though I can agree there aren't any big surprises.
Thor tying with Hall for first on Circus Dumbbell, the big names placing below rookies in frame carry, Hall coming in last in the frame carry and how relatively low the top weights were on the deadlift jump out at me.374/176/429 @174 - 04/02/16
