thread title. Finally was able to build a new pc again, so no more 10fps poverty laptop. Looking for some good current mmorpgs (that don't have a dead playerbase) with a tera- like fighting style or just mmos with some skill based combat.

I have over 5k hours on that game (RIP life), and can say that it's not worth playing anymore. The best part was WvW for me, and it's lost a large chunk of its population and nowhere near as lively and active as it use to be. First 2 years were great. The combat it very good though, I will always appreciate it for that.
OP, unfortunately, it seems like the MMO era is dead.<Positive Brah>

GW2 by far. Lots of pvp and pve options. I just got a buddy from work into it and we've been leveling together. Still loads of fun. Between my backlog and GW2, I play GW2 way more.
Disagree. WvW is alive and well especially since they've added linked worlds to support some of the lower pop/tier servers.

Coincidentally enough, my guild kind of fell apart shortly after the xpac which included me not playing for a while. Hopped back in about 2 months ago, guild got back together and been having a blast. WvW is great. "World Linking" I mentioned has paired low pop/tier servers with higher pop/tier servers. The pairs are rotated every few months - there was a vote to change that, not sure what passed but it was either monthly, quarterly or every 6 months IIRC. I don't remember exactly how the matching works, but I think it's a great system and they put back in the old WvW "alpine" maps, I feel like that has made a huge difference since IMO without easier travel options the new maps sucked. Way too big and just felt like I was running for 10 minutes between each fight. Reward tracks like in PvP are on WvW now, so that's a huge incentive for playing WvW now. I feel like every big fight I'm getting a chest between leveling up or reward track, it's very nice.
Also the new raids are all out if you like PvE, they brought back Super Adventure Box temporarily (might be a yearly thing now), made the grind less of a drag in the new maps (increased exp, new quest chains, etc). They "fixed" dungeons, so they give a daily gold reward and every 8 runs gives a gold reward + 150 tokens for the given dungeon. So dungeons queues have improved immensely. Dailies have been extended to fractals, so now there is separate pve, wvw, pvp and fractal dailies. Also new dailies added, like occasionally a dungeon will pop up on a daily PvE and makes for a pretty good quick run with extra rewards. Also fractals are just 1 part, not 3 parts now, so less frustrating.
They have improved immensely on what I thought was already a pretty good product.Last edited by dcbone30; 06-19-2016 at 06:00 PM.

Oh and anyone know what's up with bdo, bns or tera? I played bns for about a month on launch till pc died and fuccin loved it. Tempted to go back to it now but heard its pretty much a ghost town.
