Typically I just see rusted $1/lb in my area, but these past few days I've seen equipment that was actually stored somewhere for cheap. Here's hoping to find a few more

Here are some Cemco plates for 75 cents per pound about 45 minutes away. Looks like the ad has been up for about a month but got relisted a couple days ago.

It blows my mind how .55 - .60 per pound CAP Weights will change hands in mere hours. But then some beauties like these will sit around because they cost just a 'little' more. Someone should pick these up.

That's how it is around here also. I can list a cheap Weider bench for $50 and it's usually gone in a day. Good quality equipment at a very low price will sit forever.

Yeah i passed on those and a nice set of old yorks too. The guy from today had 14 45s and a bunch of change plates too, that would have had me set.

I was wondering is this York GHD a good deal at $350.
I contacted the seller and he said there aren't any rips/tears or damage, but one of the washers is missing causing the padding to come off every so often. Is this an easy fix?

35 cents/lb is a good deal. Keep in mind that 50 cents/lb is only a savings of 9 cents per pound on CAP plates. At a store, a 300 lb CAP weight set only costs around $200 (breaks down to $50 bar and 59 cents/lb plates). You can flip the cheap bar that comes with the set.

You might check prices at your local stores. If you have a Dunham's nearby, they're currently selling CAP 300lb sets for $190 (breaks down to $50 bar and 55 cents/lb plates). http://www.dunhamssports.com/product...ic-weight-set/

Commercial plates like Cemco and Ivanko retail for much more.

looks like the newer model where the pads can't open.

I don't think the washer should be an issue, must be one of the ankle pads if the pad can come off completely. They're plastic - could even use a steel washer.

Dunhams in not located in florida=[. As soon as i heard sports authority was going out of sale I've been checking the stores though. The one closest to me everything was gone by the time i found out lol.

unless it's a commercial weight tree, i kind of think they're all dime/dozen. i have preferences (never another A-frame with olympic pegs) but i try to pay less than $40 apiece (mine average to about $20 apiece or less).

i'd think they'd be easy to break even if they're not your style. i kind of want you to buy them because i've not seen milled plates with chrome rims...

I looked at the rest of the photos closely, and I agree with dom, if they're local, than go check them out.

Me and eoakland talked about this idea awhile back. If you flip equipment, you are almost better off grabbing the Marcy and Weider garbage for $20 and flipping for $100, than you are getting a great steal on some Ivanko plates and trying to flip them for a valid price. I got a clunker of a deal last summer that I had one of those TKO benches with attached pulldown, thing was falling apart. It sold in a week (with multiple offers mind you) for full listing price, and the guy drove 2 hours to get it. I thought that thing was going to be in my garage for years.

Not a steal, but if you're buying it to keep and use, I don't think it's out of line. They're regularly $389+s&h. I've seen a sale price of $300, but that may have been clearing out of an older version of the bar.

That is a good buy if you plan on using it, not so good if you plan on flipping it.
