All I'm seeing ITT are people who can't tell the difference between straps and wraps lol

PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.

This lol
I used to be cynical and angry too OP. You need to stop worrying about others for your own well being, we're worried about you OP.
brb lets hate on others trying to improve their life, you're whats wrong with gym douchebags that deter people from going.
but...some people carry a dufflebag around but I think thats a different story

whew good thing you dont go to my gym. i would feel bad wearing wrist straps.
i mean i know i can lift more then 305, but if you think no straps will help. then i guess i better do what you say.
ffffttt ****ot. get off your soap box.
i would rather see them over geared and consuming pre-workout, then not see them at the gym at home on their xbox.
if you going to complain about gym issues, how about that little cnt that comes in an mocks your lifting, or the guy who
thinks if he wears alot of cologne he will attract a female.

12-22-2015, 10:47 AM #78It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

I'll double down: except in very rare circumstances, gloves don't serve a legit purpose. I know one person who has a medical condition that requires him to use gloves, and it's gross enough that I'm glad he does.
Wrist wraps serve a legit purpose. Lifting straps do serve a purpose, although some would argue that you shouldn't use them because you should develop your grip strength.
I fukking tell straight up newbs that they should consider squat shoes - maybe not as expensive as AdiPowers if they aren't on sale, but they are great for helping people squat to depth, regardless of the weight they are using. If they can't afford them or are skeptical, I suggest they try putting plates under their heels - even a rank beginner can feel the difference.Deuteronomy 28:35

This is a weird superiority complex thing that accompanies some lifters, and it spans all levels, but I think it usually comes from newbies. Some people confuse the confidence they gain from building muscle and/or strength, and it comes out as arrogance.
I've been around competitive bodybuilders and powerlifters of all levels over the years. Some are elitists who think they're hot shit and some are the nicest people you'll ever meet. I've known mediocre lifters who wouldn't take 10 seconds to answer a quick question in the gym from a n00b, and I've lifted alongside of some of the strongest people in the world and they were incredibly helpful (even to a mediocre lifter such as myself).

I used gloves when I first started lifting. Probably still would if my gym didn't allow chalk.

Trying to get your ideal outcome often leads to the passing up of practical alternatives that deny your adversaries theirs.
