I'm super-excited for this fight to finally go down! So tough to pick one over the other. We know anything can happen in a fight at this level, but I'd say McGregor has the edge as all the pressure's on Aldo and he's had a long layoff.
Either way, I just want to see a fight that lives up to the crazy buildup. One thing is for sure - McGregor sure as hell can sell a fight!
I'll make my pick after the weigh-in.

Yeah same here. No doubt he's one cocky SOB but you can tell that once you are in his circle he is very loyal and looks out for those around him.
Such a glaring difference between Urijah and Connor in terms of personality yet both seem like good guys in different ways. It was a great TUF season!

Chazzy has a good analysis and McG has the stand-up advantage and his record shows he wins. But, he has weaknesses like his ground game and he gets hit. Just not enough.
What can Aldo bring that Mendes could not bring? I hope Aldo brings a strategy of leg kicks and take downs. It also seems like Aldo is more pissed than Mendes was and being a champion, Aldo can channel that anger to his advantage and talent.

Aldo trolled McG pretty well in the weigh-ins.
The other big fight is Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold. As much as I like Weidman, Rockhold is a beast. In the MMA section here, most think Weidman will win. Rockhold is very strong, IMO quicker than Weidman, he has great striking and great kicks. I just see Rockhold overpowering Weidman.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Loved seeing Aldo's gamesmanship at square-off after the weigh-in. Never would have predicted that! I was honestly set to pick McGregor until seeing it. Great to see Aldo looking loose, calm and relaxed. I now predict a 5 round war that will go to a decision. Can't pick a winner but anticipating FOTY. It's gonna be great!
As for the co-main event, I gotta go with Weidman. Not a flashy fighter or personality, but he'll get the job done against Rockhold, IMHO.

Yikes! Talk about a let down, eh. That was shockingly quick. I guess that's what makes the sport so compelling - anything can happen. Can't help but feel deprived of a high-level contest, but whatchagonnado.
Anyway, the word is that Frankie's next in line. While I'm a huge Edgar fan, I see him getting tooled by McGregor.
Weidman/Rockhold was also disappointing. Weidman looked flat and both dude's appeared to gas quickly. Rockhold claimed after the fight that he had a staph infection and was on antibiotics which accounts for him, but I wonder what was up with Weidman. Is it true that he was the recipient of "good timing" having faced Brazilians on the downside of their careers?
Hey, that Romero dude is a freakin' beast. Not much of a gas-tank and he's kinda old, but I don't expect Rockhold is looking forward to being locked in a cage with him.
One thing I'm grateful for is that I didn't sig bet Mark on the Weidman/Rockhold fight. I was super-close to proposing a sig bet and am now glad that I didn't!

Hey Chazzy I was cheering for Weidman and hoping that he would pull it off. But, Rockhold is a specimen and he has demolished his opponents as of late. Looks don't always measure success, but at the weigh-ins, Weidman as you said, looked flat and to me, under-nourished and little compared to Rockhold. As far as "timing," I am assuming you meant a little help from vitamin S? Makes sense, but it is possible with superior genetics and a nutritionist who knows what he or she is doing. On the other hand, MMA is still fraught with it. Weidman's legs even looked small and you could tell from his walk out. If Weidman had better health and nutrition and better strength caoching, AND if he didn't make that crazy decision to throw that heel kick, it would have at least even the odds.
No, I would not have bet on that I was hoping Weidman would win.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

"Precision beats power and timing beats speed." What a great line by McGregor. Man what a let down. I so wanted to see this fight go deep. Didn't really care who won to be honest. Conor gets a little full of himself but I'm now a believer. Prior to the Aldo fight I hadn't fully bought in to Conor simply because his toughest test was Chad who had two weeks to prepare for the fight an took him down with ease.
Anyone else love Joe Rogan's comments in the ring when interviewing Aldo. Aldo says it wasn't a fight and Joe corrected him saying, "Well it was a fight, just a really quick one." Yeah kinda a dik move on his part...but was an epic burn. I was really hoping it was gonna go longer, obviously...but the outcome is still how I figured.
Prior to the fight I was telling some friends that after Mcgregor won his plan was to go up to 155 lbs and turn their 'bum lives around' LOL. To which they replied...it's hard to gain 10 lbs...lulzOG

I would not at all be surprised if Conor is able to compete at 155 and take the belt in that division as well. My guess is he walks around close to 160 and makes the cut to 145. The thing the current 155 pounders are saying is they all walk around probably in the 170's. So there's probably going to be a strength advantage for some of the larger guys fighting at 155 who cut 15-20 lbs versus a guy who only cuts 5-10 lbs. Conor looks so drained when he weighs in for the 145 lb limit so I have no doubt he can fight comfortably at 155. It's just a question of his strength versus theirs. He clearly has a lot of power as it is. Should be interesting.

If you are referring to my comment Re: Glad I didn't pay for it, let me educate you son.
First off, who said? That I didn't watch it live? It was streamed life and free.
2nd, It's possible to watch it a couple of hours later and not know the results, It was posted online for free within hours.
Guess what Einstein, I bet the fight was just as exciting for me and I didn't pay and no I didn't know the outcome.𝓐𝓲𝓻 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓬𝓮 𝓥𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓷 1976 - 1999 - 𝓒𝓪𝓷𝓷𝓪𝓫𝓲𝓼 𝓔𝓷𝓽𝓱𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓪𝓼𝓽 𝓼𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮 1960'𝓼
