90x10 on OHP is some legit weight/reps man nice work! Know exactly how you feel about making the schedule work to get in the gym, sucks when those rest days are planned for you.

Great video. Form looks solid, it's hard to tell from the angle, but everything looks like it moves really smooth. Where is your sticking point during bench? Mine is about 4 inches off my chest (halfway up), something I'm trying to improve on if you have any suggestions.

I always work out solo and loath asking for a spot because I can't stand when someone touches my bar.
As far as sticking point I guess for me it is the last couple of inches. I never start a rep I am not sure I can complete but at times it gets dicey heading towards lockout.
I also find that if I am fatiguing I stop the decent early

I love these days! I feel like sometimes lifting in the middle of the day it's a totally different vibe than night or morning. The time just seems to fly and the gym is usually empty. Glad you got in a great workout! LOL "locked and loaded" ... So basically you're a deadly weapon?

ok so this is a vent or looking for opinion, not related to log but happened during the course of it.
My current gym I am on a month to month membership at $24.95/month. The equipment is old but not unusable. Gym Etiquette is real low, people don't clean the bar when they are done, dumbbells all over the place, curling in the 1 squat rack that has safety bars, etc. the floor where you squat and deadlift is uneven. When deadlifting if you do not move around to a good spot one side will hit the floor before the other. When squatting, depending on the rack, you have to take 3 steps back and 2 over so that your feet are not on unlevel plains.
All of this I have dealt with as I am easy going and really just need some weights to lift. Well the night before Thanksgiving I walked in and did not notice that the gym was closing at 8pm for some unknown reason. I was squatting and worked my way up to 405lb. On my second rep the lights to the gym were turned off. I managed to complete my rep and rack the weight but I could not believe they turned the lights off without even walking over to say hey we are closing.
I have since went to another gym for my last lift and tried it out. This gym is $30/month. All the equipment is brand new, I mean brand new but it is not a lifters gym yet. It used to be a Lucile Roberts and the patrons are what you would expect. So now I am trying to decide if I go with the brand new gym with nice equipment but workout in a gym where I am probably the biggest person in the place, or I stick with the sh$$ hole I have been going to that has a customer base that is a little more motivating in the competition stand point. I am pretty sure at this point I am going to the new gym out of principle because I was not happy with the hole light turning off thing but I have worked out in gyms like the other one before and although at times it is an ego boost to be out lifting most people I am a bit of a freak in the gym. I lift angry, I am very anti social, I pace, I mouth the words to the songs I am listening to, etc and at a place like this I stand out.
Any thoughts on how you guys and gals would handle?

I have never lifted in a gym with serious lifters. By me there are no "real gyms", only these newfound fitness centers.. ie anytime, snap, planet fitness.. I would imagine lifting with people bigger than you would be motivating, but I've never experienced it. I lift the same way as you do.. headphones in, get in my own head, and leave me the fuk alone. I lift in my basement now, and lifting by myself hasn't held me back any. I think you'd be fine switching gyms. People won't pay to much attention to you, they never did me. Just go and lift man. You'll get some stares, but that's life. If I were in your position I would switch gyms.

I'm old school and love dungeon gyms. The best gyms are the ones with an assortment of machine lines and lots of free weights. When you walk in and see row after row of the same brand machine in the same shiny color, leave.

late night getting into the gym got home after my son's basketball practice at a little after 8 pm, did not get into the gym till after 8:30
1 well mounded scoop
Walked in with a good solid energy
bench
bar x 10 x 2
135 x 10 x 2
185 x 10
225 x 6
245 x 6
275 x 5 x 2
225 x 8
At the new gym, like the feel of the bench but it is not bolted down. When racking 275 you can feel the front of the bench lift up a touch from the weight. Going to have to comment to a staff member on that one, I think if someone was pushing upwards to 405 it would be a real safety hazard
Incline bench
135 x 10
185 x 10
225 x 6 x 2
Bent over Barbell Row
bar x 10
135 x 10
185 x 10
225 x 10 x 2
Body weight pullups
4 sets 8-10 reps
Wide grip pull downs
80 x 20
120 x 20
140 x 20
160 x 10
180 x 10
I had a real decent pump at the end of the workout. It was around 9:45 when finishing up and I have a mental rule about no lifting past 10. Energy was solid and kept me up a little later than normal but nothing terrible
Going back to the gym thing, there was 1 trainer there last night squatting some respectable weight. There was only like 100 people in the entire gym so no issues getting on benches. handles on the dumbbells are a bit wide and will take some getting used to. I can see if the customer base were to increase this gym would be cramped, but since I am only going month to month there is no real risk

LOL
That is what this place looks like. I am not a big user of machines but as you described they are all the same brand and look like they were delivered a month ago. A bunch of niche kinda crap things too. Like pullup sections with rock climber grips instead of a bar. I get it if you are a rock climber but I am sure it goes completely unused.
Like scotty said there most of the places around here are the new wave of fitness clubs. It all depends on how far you want to travel to get to a gym. for instance i can train at a gym Kai Greene goes to but would add 15-20 minutes each wayLast edited by mcord11758; 12-08-2015 at 11:35 AM.

So on the gym issue:
I have had the light out thing happen to me a few different times (My gym closes at 10pm Fri-Sun and it sucks) and that pisses me off like no other. But in the same breathe, my gym is pretty good about fixing stuff and keeps thing pretty well clean. But at one point it was dirty and unkept. I know when they started loosing memberships over it things changed. My 2cents, tell the owner/manager you are thinking about switching. If he or she takes your concerns serious: stay. If you are treated anything but a valuable part of the gym, tell them to pound sand and go to the new place, others will follow.
Side note: You are probably one of those guys people are looking up to in the gym, you're running an impressive log with some killer sets/reps!_____________________________________

The thicker grip handled dumbells are legit man! I switched gyms for a bit, and they had thicker db grips. Didn't take long to get used to, and I liked them a million times more. Then when i went back to the other gym with the skinny grip db's it really fuked with me. Got spoiled and took forever to get used to the skinny grip
I thought you worked and trained at an anytime fitness?

thanks for the opinions
1 well mounded scoop
Barbell Squats
bar x 10 x 2
135 x 10
225 x 10
275 x 6
315 x 6
365 x 6 x 2 paused at bottom for last rep
Deadlift
135 x 10
225 x 10
315 x 6
365 x 6 x 2
Leg Press
200lbs x 20 x 2
400lbs x 20 x 2
Leg Ententions
120 x 20 x 3
Standing calf raises
110 x 10 x 4
I am happy with the session because I was not really feeling it yesterday. felt like I may be fighting something off. Had enough energy to push through. My lower back is getting a little stiff, I may back off the squats and deadlifts a bit next week. I had a good leg pump when finishing with the volume
couple days trying the new gym. There are pluses and minuses. I think I am going to give it a go there. It is really empty I mean like 5-10 people in the free weight section. there is no wait for a machine at all. there were days in my normal gym where I would go in to squat and end up waiting 15 minutes to get a rack. I am not sure I am going to go there long term but I really think I am done with the old place. Can always go back if it does not work out

I can imagine your back is getting stiff with squatting and deadlifting in the same day, that stuff is brutal!
Nice work man. One thing I noticed with commercial gyms is that the time you go is crucial to how busy they are. There are a few gaps in the day where they are crazy busy, other than that they are dead.
