I've felt like complete crap for months now and am hoping this finally helps it.

I have insomnia - for which I just had to go have a drug test - LOL in order to get one of the medications I take. I would much prefer to need something like CPAP as opposed to medication, but it is what it is. Best to you. When you get treated with whatever it is, you will feel so much better. People underestimate how important sleep is. There is a chitload of research out there on the negative side effects of sleep deprivation.

asked for a FitBit for Christmas to monitor sleep. Went to bed at 9:30 and between wife and kids didn't get to sleep until after 11:30 last night

Sleep medicine is real scary and a very serious decision. I take so much chit - and average three - five hours a night. I have been through chit I'd rather not say, but unfortunately for me there are no easy answers, so I just do the best I can.

My best advice is to be patient and give yourself time to get used to it.
I had to go thru 2 different styles of masks to find the one that worked and then
it took me about a month to keep it on all night. I would take it off in my sleep
wake up covered in sweat, get up,get a drink and go back to bed with it on.
After I was used to it, it was a life saver.

Melatonin only works if you are deficient in it - it did nothing for me - LMAO Grandpa 8 decades I have some real horror stories. It could be worse. I shouldn't complain

That's the tip of the iceberg for me. Worst one was driving on it and waking up miles from my house. Yikes! Now I don't take anything and get around 5-6 hrs a night. So used to it that if I happen to get more than 5 or 6, I feel like dog sh!t.
